Okay so I've read through all of this, I'll be test driving a V36 350GT SP in the next few days as I'm in the market for a new car,

Just to confirm everything...

What doesn't work is Navigation, some bluetooth devices, TV and Radio (unless with a band expander)

The rest of the features work but are in Japanese

And one day down the line when I win the lottery I can convert it using Infiniti G37 parts for about 10K

Did I get everything right?

I'll have more info once I test drive anyway

EDIT:

But how did this happen? I thought GPS could be installed extra but the menus still be in Jap but this one seems to have both AUS GPS and English menus.

There is. Russian fellow in Sydney that I suspect has gotten his hands on the local firmware update. I have seen one here in Brisbane and I was impressed. Only letdown are the buttons. They have stickers on them.

Local dealer has the car so I did not get much time to play with it.

I've had my 370 GT since 2008, I brought it because it is a great GT car. The only things that I have done is fit a Garmin integral nav system, a good fm band expander and a Canadian spec dash cluster (I was in Canada so it was easy). the rest of the stuff does not bother me. there is a good tranlastion i got of the net that helps with the rest of the stuf I may need. Like I said I brought the car to drive not fiddle with electronics, Just buy a 370 GT and enjoy the driving experence, just my opinion :D

test drove the v36 350gt today and will be test driving another one tomorrow and i must say they are amazing

perfect balance between performance and luxury and not too thirsty, been told 10-11L per 100km? Like any other v6 probably end up 15L or more if thrash but it could go under 10L if you baby it?

i'll see what this other guy says about an english conversion but i was quoted 2.5k for english + gps today

So I've spoken to the guy that does the conversion.

$2,500 plus GST for the conversion. Includes all replacement parts etc.

For pre 2010 models they require the physical car and post 2010 they can do it without the car, just require the navi block.

$2500 seems pretty standard when adding GPS as an option in new cars, so $2500 including labour (possibly warranty too) seems like a good deal to me.

The guy actually offered me $1900 for the install if I purchase the car, so I'm pretty sold but will have to see one last car before I confirm my buy.

There is a video on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=vN9BxqLivqA. The gay says they replaced the head unit.

Wow I love the USB port in the console omg!!!! Phaaark I want this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

$2.5k, I'd almost make the drive from Adelaide for that

    • When you crank your car, and hit it with a timing light, can you see a steady crank timing?
    • Oh, forgot to add, A few months ago I was getting mixture codes and the car was using crap loads of fuel. You could smell the unburned fuel in the exhaust, it was crazy strong. Economy was over 17.5 l/100 and usually around 19. I smoked the engine and found a leaky CCV hose which I replaced and then I replaced my two pre cat O2 sensors, I also replaced the MAF. This fixed my mixture codes and improved my exonomy but I'm still 14 - 15 l/100 when pottering about town so something is still amiss. Throttle response is much better and it has more pep but I'd like to know why it's still so thirsty (and I'm hoping that whatever it is gives me a bit more poke).
    • Car is on factory injectors/z32 maf/ q45 throttle body/ z32 ecu with nistune
    • Hello all, currently finishing up a rb25 swap into my s14. Having issues with starting, car has spark (confirmed by pulling a plug and watching it spark), has fuel(confirmed by checking pulse/voltage at injectors all spark plugs are soaked in fuel). Car cranks over and pops into the exhaust with a heavy fuel smell but no attempt to start or run, I have torn the timing cover off and triple confirmed timing, turned the CAS in multiple spots both directions, attempted to start with coolant temp and maf unplugged, checked my fuel lines and made sure they weren’t backwards, checked voltage at cas/injectors/coilpacks, made sure all the grounds in the harness are connected and added a few grounding straps (1 from chassis to block, 1 from chassis to head, and 1 from chassis to igniter chip) I am getting stumped here. As a last ditch effort I made a full grounding harness tonight that’s going to run from the battery and add an extra ground from the battery onto the coil pack harness/igniter chip/ intake manifold/ Wiring specialties harness ground/ and alternator. I’m hoping maybe the grounding harness will fix it here but posting here to see if anyone has any other ideas on what else I can check. My fuel pressure is unknown right gauge will be here tomorrow.  IMG_3206.mov
    • yeah I was shocked when I checked my spare OEM on and as below that's how they come from Nissan. (side interesting note new NEO gearbox and replacement park lack the brass bush on the tips and its just all alloy) unsure about damage to the box currently back at 1110 to be pulled down/inspected and selector fork replaced as he built it previously and given the never before seen failure on his billet forks he is replacing it under warranty. He said he has used always OEM the keyway tab without issue for years so it could be an unlucky coincidence. I did talk to him about the sharp corners and stress concentration too. Re: hard shifts i got 7+ years out of the OEM one and the fork itself failed not the keyway. so could be bad luck as I said or an age thing + heat cycles in box and during fabrication of billet?
