Hey guys,

I'm in a little car group which just started off as a bunch of mates from high school which has evolved into a group of about 40+ enthusiasts with cars ranging from skylines to supras to silvias to hondas and so on.

Each one of my close mates is in another more specific car group such as Supra Club Victoria and S-Chassis Club.

Just wanted to know if there was any skyline dedicated groups or clubs that have regular meets and/or cruises. I've been looking for a while and can't seem to find any at all.

If you are in a club and are looking to expend with new members then look me up on facebook or message me here.

If not, then maybe a few would like to get together a start a small local skyline enthusiast club.

Let me know!

Thanks.

Matt.

Good thinking, it's so hard to find a dedicated Skyline club, I mean there is only: Skylines Australia, SkylineOwners, R31 Skyline Club, Classic Skylines Australia and various GT/GTR based clubs. It's almost as if there was nothing out there!

Seriously though, we are running a whole lot of events this year, some open to anybody and some exclusive to members. If you want access to the best events, sign up as a member today! :D

LOL SAU Vic doesn't hold too many cruises but we do have monthly garage meets and various other events throughout the year. There are a few other branches of Skyline clubs in Melbourne, usually just started by a bunch of mates like you and your friends. It's much easier that way to organise things and there's no bureaucracy involved (such as having only paid members cruise due to insurance/CAMS issues). I know of a few GTR-only clubs in Melbourne but if you're after something more general, try JDMST. They have quite a few carpark meets and cruises.

Lol really?

We've already had this year GOR, go karts day, Marysville, dyno day, and coming up lakes entrance cruise, and its only may.

AND.. There are HEAPSSS more Events coming up soon!

Aaron there's only been GOR cruise and the Coffee and Cakes cruise. 2 cruises in 5 months. Last time I knew anythng go-karts day and dyno day weren't cruises. HOWEVER, I did mention that various other events were run throughout the year :)

Two cruises in five months are actually quite a bit for one club, especially with the cams insurance stuf we have to go through! My personal opinion, is that anymore than that and people just simply won't turn up, for the 400km that they might put on their car in a day..

My opinion anyway! As you said though, it's not just cruises we do HEAPS of other fun shit.

Coming up is a duck meet! ;)

Very true, though I've only been on the committee for like two months and now that the Dyno Day is long gone, I will aim to run monthly cruises and events. So there will be plenty of cool stuff coming up :)

Come along to the Lakes Entrance cruise next weekend, for a relatively boring run, it has more interest than I expected haha

Basicly a reply to all of the above posts;

I know i'm in SAU Vic. But it's not really "skyline dedicated". Everyone has a passion for one, etc. but what i was looking for it something alot SMALLER within SAU. A group i could call up and say 'hey let's hang out and talk shit about cars' and be able to meet them in 10 minutes sorta thing.

noone has really grasped what i wanted to achieve here, but thanks for the input!

Oh, everyone is generally like that. You can post up in the events section Last minute cruises or meets, and people will rock up..

Last week we wanted some food so a few of us got together and did just that

This kind of thing happens all the time. Go along to meets and make friends with people; get their numbers and organise last minute cruises on nights when you're bored.

That's what I did a few years ago. Had only been to one SAU Vic meet and not long after I found myself doing unofficial/private mountain runs with some of the regulars in groups of 5-10 cars every weekend. Bit old for that now :(

    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
    • It is the stock air box with the panel filter. Everything else is stock except the exhaust at this point, as I also went back to the cleaned 270cc injectors. I will check the RPM when the IACV is unplugged and report back.
    • As MBS suggested if this is happening when the engine is cold you're going to want to remove the intake air regulator and verify resistance + that the shutter is physically opening and closing. At -20C should be fully open, 20C half open, over 60C fully closed. At 20C should be 70-80 ohms. For AAC valve testing using a Consult cable see if you can raise and lower the idle by commanding more or less AAC duty cycle. Hopefully it's pretty linear as well, shouldn't be like 30% AAC valve is barely idling and 40% is 1500 rpm.
