Forced Performance Hta Turbos

Recommended Posts

Ah just say this model skyline was the Bathurst "SPECIAL RACE ADDITION" and it was released with a top mount turbo officer. Get a little tag made up saying genuine Nissan on the turbo and manifold somewhere and bobs your uncle. Lol maybe. ;)

And seriously what can they say to that? Nothing I would have thought. How can they prove it's not?

They don't need to. They just send you for an emissions test/what ever else the hell they want you to do.

If your on jungle juice would you pass with a 400 cell cat in place? And if you go through the hassle once and show following offices your EPA emissions test has past certificate perhaps one would be ok? Added things if your not getting up it and driving hard around town you should be right. I also love screamers myself but on the street having it plumbed in is the go for noise level reduction. But what ever you do they'll do one better at times. Other thing would be have a tune in your ecu to switch maps to a EPA safe tune perhaps? I dunno lol just trying to hope when I put my new top mount kit on I wont put off the road. Oh well I'm leaning towards a hta gt3582r at the moment with a twin scroll ass on it. Unless stao can make me something close to it's performance.

could be stupid question....

would there be a twin low-mount option for an RB26 with these HTA turbos?

I dont think its a stupid question... It was asked a page back i think and its not an off the shelf option as far as i know!

There is an option, I'm just not certain how good it would be - Owen Developments in the UK do a few custom FP based combos which FP themselves don't release to address customer requirements in the UK: http://www.owendevelopments.co.uk/article/76/NEW_Skyline_R33-34_twin_GT2668_HTA_turbos/

They've also sold HTA4094R turbos and if I remember a couple of other interesting HTA based units which I am fascinated that FP themselves don't market.

wonder if there are any results floating around at gtr.co.uk - will have to have a dig

1100 pounds though... each. yikes. less 20% but still...

in the old money... would these be classified as bigger than 2530/-5's?

There is a guy (mentioned this stuff recently in this thread) on the UK forums that installed a pair on his and from memory it had no surge issues or anything, but his engine failed before he managed to get a full tune into it :( If the compressor doesn't choke on the turbine or smaller compressor cover (not convinced it won't) then I'd peg it to be capable of outflowing -10s and spool somewhere between the -5s and -10s. Hard to say though
