I don't understand the segregation...we had girl targeted clubs and representation about 10 years ago, back when it served a purpose, because girls in car clubs were few and far between and probably weren't taken seriously as enthusiasts. But there are plenty on these forums and plenty within our paid clubs...I don't think many share the view these days that girls can't be car enthusiasts?

Reminds me of the girls on COD who put [MISS] or [GIRL] in their clan tag. 10 years ago it might have made you unique or got you attention, or you could have been a guy pretending to be a girl...but the ubiquity is too high these days to make a point of it and expect people not to think you're just vying for attention.

Actually I'm 100% with Birds here and I've met some really awesome chicks (plus others!) on SAU.

TBH I hate being singled out as a female and I would rather just be one of the gang and that's exactly how all my other friends treat me especially when they get to know me!

Even when my car was in PI mag, I didn't let them take a pic with me in it because I just wanted a normal article like everyone else.

True enthusiast right here! It's about the cars, not pencils and pencil sharpeners

Not that I hate on the girls who clearly play up their gender and draw attention to it to get ahead / gain status in male dominated environments (I'd probably be one of them if I were female), but they do enthusiasts within your gender a massive disservice. I certainly have more respect for those who are happy to be another guy amongst the guys. It's no doubt tough to pull this off at times, but the more girls like you getting around and doing it, the more seriously the rest of the community are likely to take your gender as genuine, regular enthusiasts. Pioneers for mediocrity! lol

I understand that OP might be experiencing singling out / not being taken seriously within her own social circles...and has presented what she feels to be an appropriate response/solution to it...but it just plays up the segregation that caused her problems in the first place, doing more harm than good. Car clubs are still traditionally male dominated environments; you have to expect hurdles as a female. But assimilation is much better for the cause than segregation!

^^ Well said!

The weekend I just spent away at Cootamundra with all my friends and the Motive crew proves this as well.

I'm also not saying that there's a problem with what OP has done, but both my friends and I consider me as being "One of the boys" and really, I think that's a much more fun way to be!

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
