So much butthurt from people about one little event. Those who are complaining, I hope you attended every single event your state club held this year, because you are obviously the type of people that need to come to EVERYTHING... right?

Sigh...I'm back to reinforce my point in a slightly more mature manner.

There have been plenty of one model only meets before. It's not my thing personally; I'm always a "more the merrier" person and actually find it boring as bat shit when there's just one model of car at a meet. The cars would have to be reeeeally special, and for me, 34Rs aren't that special. These vehicles aren't that rare if you can get 25 of them along to a meet. That being said, I don't care too much if other people think otherwise and want to do it - it's quite their prerogative to circle jerk over their model of car.

But there's no denying the degree of segregation that this kind of stuff creates within our close community. So whilst I don't care too much what people do, it does make me a little sad to see when people don't want to mix/play with others around here.

For those who do not think it has an element of elitism to it, well people only really do this "one model to rule them all" stuff when they think their car is something special, over and above the rest of the crowd. It's normal for models to group together at meets, but to not want any others there with them? There is a reason you don't see R33 GTS-T only events - it's not because we don't like our cars - we just know they aren't that special that we would want to group them away from other models for a photoshoot, and we like sharing our models with others. You don't see us snubbing the R32 N/As. Hence the lot of us are having a good laugh at the ridiculousness of people doing it with the 34Rs, as if there is this huge cultural gap between the different models of Skyline. Might as well have your own section on the forums.

But it's not even really that that is the source of comedic gold here. It's the suggestion of hiring security. For what? Fear that others within the community are going to gatecrash and impose their vehicles on you, because another car meet is such a drawcard for random hooligans to mess up your fun/plans? Car communities aren't like that, especially not ours. We have member only meets in SAU Vic (as I'm sure all the paid membership clubs on here do) and we've never once had someone try to attend an event in their car that was advertised as members only. There's just no need to go to those lengths, hence this thread has been the butt of many a joke. People aren't that desperate to associate with other people who don't want them there. Hell, I doubt you'd actually get any spectators at all besides passengers, simply because it's a one model meet and the only time people are really into that is if they own the car themselves. The people trolling here have no intention or desire to attend, believe me. We just think it's utterly ridiculous and worthy of being payed out on to hire security for a car meet. I've never seen anything like that in the 12+ years I've been a part of various car clubs and communities. I don't think the supercar guys even bother with that and they would have much more to worry about with their vehicles and randoms in attendance.

Nuff said and have fun with your meet.

I don't have a problem with the 'private' event. I think it is a great idea. It has been done many times before (both single and multiple models) with great success and no issues.

However, there wouldn't be a need to hire any security if the meet location and time wasn't posted on a public forum... What is the point of that?

I think it is counter-productive...or maybe it is the ultimate troll?

I must have missed the bit where security is stopping spectators, this is clearly a bunch of little minded people with nothing better to do then bitch about something that has nothing to do with them and isn't going to effect their normal days coming and goings, so they blow it up into some massive conspiracy against them, and really are you comparing a R33 GTS-T to a R34 GTR, yeah cause they are clear as common and such a close spec model of car with the same pedigree as each other

I figured the security where going to be there to direct other cars to a different part of the car park so the OP and Lowdown can get all the 34s together for the pics with out other different cars in amongst them and if that is what they want then its there party, would make for a good pic, if my 34 is tuned in time I will be there and I personally would welcome anyone to come along for a chat and certainly wouldn't exclude anyone cause of the car they drive

I just can't believe some of the BS coming from people on here really if you don't like it don't go, it would a better event without people like you and your mindset of cause one R34 owner wants to gather a heap of the same car for a photo shoot then HE and ALL R34 owners must think they a superior to everyone else or elitists, that is the joke around here and you people should be ashamed cause YOU think the op thinks he is better then everyone else YOU then paint every owner with the same brush

Oh hai

No spectators they will be asked to leave .!we are organizing security for the night .

Does he realise his vehicle is simply the premium version of the very next model after the R33 GTS-T? Kind of puts things in perspective / smears dirt on that clean slate, doesn't it! But he demonstrated perfectly the kind of mentality that I was talking about in my tl;dr. I wasn't branding all 34R owners as douchebags - just those who talk a bit like him and OP do.

But we don't think you're all the same and we never said that. Most of our laughter is directed at the organisation rather than any attendees, unless they share the same sentiment as OP.

The two best 34Rs I've ever seen are owned by two of the most down to earth dudes to attend a car meet. These are cars that have had well over 150k spent on them in modifications alone and neither of them have the "we are the elite and need our own meet with security and no spectators" mentality. So we aren't painting you all with the same brush.

so being a 1999 release, you mean like a VS Commodore S pack compared to a VTSS? :P

I have never looked at or treated someone different cause of what car they own

that statement is the reality of it, you can't comparing the two cars, they a worlds apart even thought they are both skylines, doesn't make the owners of one or the other automaticly better then the other or elitists, its you guys saying that, maybe that's what you think we are but not what I think

    • sold listed as a Tomei LSD 1.5 Way For 1998+ Nissan Skyline ER34 25GT RB25DE w/Open R200 https://www.ebay.com/itm/174006114594?campid=5338967980&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&toolid=10050&customid=&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&loc_physical_ms=108689&loc_interest_ms=&campid=5338967980&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&toolid=10050&customid=71883f2ccc571356e0a757bc7adfdde2&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&loc_physical_ms=108689&loc_interest_ms= it went in like butter all gears, alignment, back lash etc, rotation and clearances correct, and if rolling all rotates smooth and free when coasting down road , clutch in or out over 10 mph smooth... its the binding, clunking and jerking from a stop that is most concerning, also seems like its going to tear the tires off in 10 miles of normal road driving.
    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
