They will renew existing policies but will not change the agreed value

ahh that's fine with me I guess, it's more so for property damage in the odd/rare even you rear end a Ferrari or so

At one stage that's all insurance on the gtr was for me cause I could afford to just go buy another one for 8k with a blown engine, now that they're worth a lot more I want to actually be able to replace it with another one if something happens

Yeah saw that one, either insurance or woman driver thought the dash cam driver hit her (instead of her hitting the kerb) and her friend in front was being typical yellah habib.

I got my renewal last week, only insured for $25k dammit. If my car is ever damaged/written off, I'm out of the game :( .

Anyone see that recent dash cam footage on DashCams Aus?

V35 with a FnF drift wing involved in what can only be described as a blatant insurance scam

Got the Video address Dave

Someone explain to me how that scam is supposed to work? You conveniently get a phone photo of a car that hit you with no damage to it?

I'm only making an assumption here. Husband (Skyline) and Wife (4WD) are talking on the phone. Wife tells Husband someone just rear ended me. She pulls over. Dash cam continues to drive off because person in 4WD is a f**king idiot.

Husband thinks dash cam is trying to do a runner so he blocks them and tried to take a photo.

I dunno, to me it did look dodgy. But it's possible he was just trying to record their rego.

Yeah it sounds like the woman in four wheel drive thought she got hit from behind rather than her hitting a curb...likely because she was distracted on the phone to her husband at the time.

maybe already had a ding in the back from parking or a previous accident and setting the bloke up to pay for it or she did what you said, either way, wankers!

Is this happening at a certain date or just when our current policies run out?

Some renewals are creeping through now, but with zero increase in sum insured.

Got a renewal notice. Premium went up from $716 to $830 a year 60k insured value for an ADM with an under 25 driver listed. Not impressed with the increase tbh

also an excess of $300

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
