You blokes are damaged merchandise :)

We have all owned Gtrs for a number of years now and unfortunately most of the this isn't anything new for us

Well someone could have clubed me to death 14 weeks ago, I would have done it for all of you :)

this is new to me.

I don't have the funds to pay a workshop to build for me.

I really wish I did.

Maybe you should open a shop, be nice to your customers, no bullshit about completion dates and bingo $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I did that, problem was keeping the work load constant enough to stay a float long term

When I started business I kept working for a bloke full time and did mine after work, did that for 7 years, 7 days a weeks and very long days.

Too many people think starting a business is easy and all you need is the money, starting is easy enough but keeping it going is the hard part. You need a skill, a willingness to work long hours and be in the area where most of your business comes from, helps to know people :) OH,A SHIT LOAD OF LUCK!

I struggled once I got it started, making money was easy enough, went to my head for a while. But I was not a businessman type and that also made it hard and easier to make bad decisions :(

if i could, i would.

Unfortunately, haven't done anything engine reco course.

And many mechanics who open a shop have a pre existing customer base in the former of after work, work.

I don't really know anyone who wants work done.

My family live too far away.

Friends are all mechanics.

So, really narrows the field.

Yeah Luke

There is so much more to it , but it is great if you have the talent to do most of your own work, save a fortune and you get the satisfaction of a job well done :)

You hear a lot of blokes say if I had the money I would do this or that, money does not make it work , unfortunately :/

I think my my job would be very close to finished and in their best interest to get it done ASAP and get paid :)

The modifications and the ceramic coatings are done for the Turbo exhaust housing and down pipe and ready to go in . As I understand it from them, it is the last of the mods needed to put the final touches to the build and then a quick tune.

Apart from a pic of the clutch, the drivetrain was finished without another pic being taken while it was up and this gets my attention, being a skeptic :/

Out of all the builds I have seen on forums , this has to be the most boring, uninformative one I have ever seen, like "Wham Bam , thank you Mam" in slow motion.

I hope the the outcome is worth it . Paul, I will let you do a test drive after the final tune and you can let us know if the shit I went through was worth it ?

So I guess it is close, might have to go to driver training school as it has been a while :)

You're spose to be telling us if it was worth it. :D

haha, I will do that but I want someone that has had these cars for a while and SEEMS to know what he is talking about to give his opinion :)

Hows the brakes on this beast?

Backs have about 3500Klm on them, my mechanic up here just put new fronts on, cannot think of the name of them. He said they are pretty good cold and could even take a couple of quick laps but that would be about it.

As I will not be doing track, quality brakes will do the job until I see what I really want to do with the car.

Paul said to try Endless CC-RGs, once I am finished playing :)

    • ok so if i wanted to go 18's i would go for 8's  in front 30+ or 32+ off set at front and the back 9 would be ok? what offset should i aim for.. then can i do some  hunting for wheel rim choices..    If i get this - will this fit all around: Size: 18 x 8.5 +37 - n what tyres size tyre should i get for front n back?
    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
