No worries mate just ring him ahead of time and see what time suits as he is always extremely busy (which is a good sign!) I know he will be able to help you out :)

After this is over I need someone a bit closer that knows what he is doing :)

My mob is extremely busy :)

In theory these guys have to hand over a product that works correctly to a satisfactory standard otherwise they have to fix it at no charge, providing there is something actually wrong and in this case there is.

They sound like they are messing around and not being professional about it. If I had a customer traveling 350km to pick up a vehicle I'd ensure it works 100% before handing over the keys.

Secondly, get the password removed from the tune on the ECU if your warranty is only verbal as it won't count for squat unless it is in writing. If they claim intellectual property that is BS because there are plenty of reasons why it can't be.

Hopefully all gets resolved quickly and not at much more of your expense. Otherwise I'd be going further with it.

I have been in a few similar situations and if I do not get this sorted to my satisfaction it will go further and I know exactly what action I must take.

As much as I feel stuffed around I have to give them a chance to sort it out, they asked me to bring it in to them, so before I go all legal crazy I will give them a fair chance to fix it. Up until this build they have been very good, I guess this is what hurts the most. Being pissed around for over 5 months, it is now 7 months and still being stuffed around, it grinds you down after a while:(

I was busting to get my hands on the car and when I finally did, it was a heap of shit!

As for the ECU, it is mine and I paid for the tune that was done for my car . I have no IP agreement with them. I want it unlocked so if I want a totally new tune on the car at some time in the future, I can have it done. Who in there right mind would want to steal this tune, it was done for my car, using the bolt ons I have, what good would it be????????

Yeah as said above and maybe get some printouts from JEVS to put up so it can be looked at on here, id like to see what a good and poor tune looked like on a graph ;)

Ouch I hope they can sort it out.

I hope mines goes a little smoother

yeah, been a little messy, just hope it gets sorted so I can enjoy the car.

Distance is the killer with all of this :(

we are going to do a little long distance tuning, computer to computer to ECU program ,make some changes

Going to put the new plugs in, number the old ones and take some pics of each one for the tuner to look at, probably give him an idea if one or more are running differently to the others ?

Its more does the tuner know the ecu well, the cock head that blew my motor said he tuned plenty of Autronic's however seeing him tune he didn't know his was around at all.

Motor blew on the dyno whilst he was fcking around with the timing :( the whole time he never used a knock listening device

The tuner sent me an Apexi Power FC Hand Controller, we worked on Face Time and made some changes to get it working enough to get me to Sydney, thats why I said "sensitive little suckers", from my experience, not worrying about anything, just a comment :)

I like tuners who tune without afrs or you know winging it

what was the final outcome, $ wise  did he man up ?

    • I strongly recommend anyone playing with cars chasing anything electric, get a basic understanding of using a DMM, and about 12V DC systems. They're REALLY easy, you only need to know V=IR and how to apply it, and you can work out what your readings should be doing. For a simple check on a light bulb, you're looking for 12V at the positive to the light, a near zero resistance to ground, and then for a small resistance across the globe when unplugged. If one of those values isn't right, you won't get what you need. Now if they're all okay, and you then plug the light in, and it still won't work, you now do a voltage check across the globe positive to negative. It should effectively read full battery voltage. If it's not, especially if it's quite low, the age old V=IR starts to be able to be thought about, you now know though, for the current flowing, there isn't much voltage for the given resistance, but the rest of that V has to be dropping somewhere else. So now do a voltage check from ground of globe, to ground of car, then do voltage check from positive of battery, to positive of the light connector. Things like a high resistance in a wire/join will start to "steal" voltage on you. So now step back through which ever wire, until you find the voltage drop is non existent, you're now before what ever is steal your voltage for example.   There's plenty of YouTube videos, but really worth understanding some V=IR, and doing some even theoretical numbers to start to understand it. Then you'll know what the DMM is telling you.

    • Item 10: Tech Edge wideband sensor interface and display. You’ll need to buy a new sensor. $150. Item 11: part of a Willians 5 point harness. $40 Item 12: OS88 gear display. No need for it now, my PPG sequential came with one. $30
    • I took it out, even though I knew I probably don't know what I'm doing other than looking for power signal lol. Lesson learned here I guess, even if it looks normal, worth checking as it only takes a few seconds anyhow. And maybe disconnect the battery, even though really shouldn't have to.
