Are there tenants lined up for place in Clayton/Westall place? Good price for the place?

Being in an over-priced rental is like a constant source of frustration. Friend of mine managed to get $330/wk for a dump in doveton he has tidied up a little bit and shares land with a small granny flat out the back that he also rents out. Rentals gone nutso.

Not sure yet it's only just gone up online no inspections yet, it's up for $420/week

Is that going rate in that area?

Old place in FTG was $400 a week house worth about 600-650k. I think they put it back up for that, too.

More or less yeah, that's what the property manager reckons.

It's decent location wise close to monash uni / hospital / train station and a fair few jobs & industrial around too

Doesn't take too long to get to the city from there when you jump on the train

Not that I've been inside, but given the location and my rental history in Clayton, it seems pretty fair.

Fingers crossed it doesn't stay vacant for too long. But whatevs, you're contributing to that younger gen of own investment property/rent somewhere nicer demographic [emoji14]

Don't get me wrong I loved living there it's just time me and the mrs moved in together rather than paying for 2 separate houses, wasn't an option for her to live with me either. No backyard for dog and too far from her work. I wasn't gonna move into her shitty Heidelberg west rental either.. hence the middle ground suburb Vermont

Seems like only yesterday I was bitching to VWL about my mate that moved in at my joint.. now he's engaged to that gal.

Monash and the south gippy, but not far from eastlink either.
Basically I can get anywhere reasonably quickly. Except the city. But on a good traffic day that would still be only ~40 mins.

Oh that's much further south than I thought you were. For some reason I had wantirna in my head.

I can only assume it's a locally known thing that they aren't good drivers?

It's local knowledge that they are Chinese

I was just stereotyping / being honest

Ebike vs motorbike the decision is simple, if you are just using it for work commute <10km without freeways / high speed needed then Ebike all the way. Motorbike if high speed and you plan on riding through the hills on the weekends and making a hobby out of it & joining the community. Don't forget 1k at least for semi decent gear.

Yeah, always been wanting to join the community and life style of motorbikes. Been browsing for gear and 1k is easily blown after looking at my shopping basket!

E-bike doesn't require licence nor registration?

Pretty sure I saw an old guy go into court for riding a motorised bicycle because it was unregistered or he was unlicensed for 2 wheelers.

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
    • Lock me in mate, although I'm not sure if I'll be heading up from Goulburn or down from Sydney, either way, return will be back to Goulburn
