Didn't see the last lap times from the supersprint at PI but up until then my best was an improvement to 2:00.55 on the road rubber. Was also running lower boost at around 11psi and the same mod as Snowie.......

SAU Nickname: Duncan

Car Make and Model: Honda S2000 (thanks rental guys :D )

Circuit Name: Phillip Island

Lap time: 2.02

Modifications

Engine: the damn thing revs to 9500 stock. and I reckon they stuffed another cam in there somehow.

Power: 76 rwkw @ 6,200rpm. 176 rwkw @ 6,500rpm. Its like its got a fcuking t88.

Suspension: stock :D

Tyres: nothing to speak of. death traps on the rear made the Federals on the front seem good

Brakes: stock....in fact nothing by the end of the day.

Body weight: 1255

edit BTW I noticed that the S2000 GTP time was

"1:54.14, APCC Honda S2000"

If semi slicks are worth 5 seconds I was only 2 seconds off the pace of the race car. That's nice.

Times were done at one of the monthly level 1 sprint days at QR. The sprint layout is always used for this and is considerable shorter than the full circuit.

Ill dig up the specs etc for Calder, getting some base lap times will be difficult since noone really races there anymore, but will post up some club times.

Meanwhile jlnewton steps to straight to the top of the field...come on QLD, get out there and give it a shake:)

OK just had a bash at Wakefield yesterday for the 1st time. In wet weather conditions too with semi slicks (yes went off the track in a big way!). Best time was 1.15/R32 GT-R. Looking forward to going back there in the dry for sure, great track... full of corners + very aggressive!!!

Cheers Duncan. Would love to go out again but damn that drive home was so hardcore. I hated every minute of it. My car was aquaplaning all over the place so I literally had to drive at 65km/hr all the way back to Sydney!!! Trucks were overtaking me... so scary... I was tired, wet, cold, no music in the car, damn!!! I won this though, so I'm happy :( I was the fastest GT-R on the day. Best recorded time on the day was 1.14 and it was an EVO8 set up for rally. trophy.jpg

Updated lap time from Sandown Maserati day. Some seriously nice cars out.

Trackday ettiquette note: when you own a barge TVR or BMW M3 and a Skyline approaches fast from behind.....get out of the way!! Don't hold the inside line and carry on a braking duel.

haha - Geoff - you looked like you were going to burst when that TVR drove up! LOL

My time improved to 1.25.7. Going to be knocked off from 1st spot though. We all just better hope Ben never finds this thread or else the rest of us will look so crap! LOL.

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
