Speaking of Eurocars thinking of getting a Renault Megane R.S. 265 Cup Manual as a chook chaser and getting the R33 off the road for some well earned maintenance and up grades.

Old school term for a small for a small four cylinder car for chasing chickens around the farm yard !

Small run around car

Brings to mind when they released the Holden Gemini van and they were labeled "finger van" comparing them to the full sized Holed panel van of the same era !

I'll let you figure out how they got that Aussie slang name

Mrs Dose Pipe said no Korean cars, as much as they are better built than VW shit boxes they still don't have that level of sound deadening and comfort. Like getting jumping from a Rav 4 to a Tiguan, sure they're the same price but man the Tiguan much more comfy.

Ah good point, back to back testing is a must. I wouldn't say my F45 is quiet as it's a weird hatch with 18" wheels, but my SIL's newish i30 seems to be quieter. My gen 5 Liberty was pretty comfy so mass definitely matters.
What about the French? Peugeot?

I have a soft spot for the late model SQ5s, we hired one in SA for a week and I can dare say it's the best car we've ever driven (all rounder).

It was fast, made stupid growly noises, ZF box, AWD (RWD bias), comfy, quiet when it needed to be, handled VERY well for a car that size. You would easily have thought you were in a Golf R going around corners!

Shit box update, fabricator chipping away at small tasks before the powder coaters open up to take the subframe and all the bits and bobs.

Since the splash guards had been deleted (wasnt my choice but pumped front guards, lipped, etc. there's no way to install the OEM splash guards) I wanted a way to protect the wiring from it being filed down by the tyre on full lock or full suspension travel.

Work in progress, but you get the idea. Will have the guard prepped and powder coated black soon.

Oh yeah, nearly forgot, here's the catch can with a ball valve on the return to sump.

Allows me to go between street mode (no return) to track mode (return to sump).

wtf kinda pic is that

open your eyes round eyes :D

Follow the drain on the catch can, it connects to a ball valve that goes into the sump. Maybe I should have circle it before posting it lol

I see it, it's just a shit pic.

You could've moved to the right and taken it looking back at the whole thing.

You amateurs will never make it on the gram...

    • Ok thanks 🙂 I will higly consider this. Any "known" company for a good reviews and experience to send that off? Is that CJ-motor good one? Or go straight to GCG site? I need to use VPN to even find some of those "shops" let alone access them 🙂
    • You can literally put in as much WMI as it takes to quench the combustion totally (and then back it off a little, obviously), and it will keep making more and more power. The power comes from the cooling effect of the water (and the meth) and the extra fuel (the meth, which also has massive octane). It is effectively exactly like running E85. One might be slightly better than the other, but they are damn close. But with either you can lean on the boost or the timing (or both) waaaay more than with just petrol and the results are similar. Here's the first thing I googled for an anecdotal bit of evidence. Can't access the attachment without being a gold member, but it is there for the getting if able to, or searched up elsewise perhaps. https://www.hpacademy.com/forum/general-tuning-discussion/show/wmi-vs-e85/
    • Dang, those BBS are so nice!
    • Yeah it is wild how much wider the Yokohama A050 in 255/40R17  vs Yokohama AD09 in 255/40R17 sits on the 17x9 +22 considering its even from the same brand and adjacent product family
    • Would love to see some examples of WMI making the same as E85. Only thing I've ever found is this one.  Which suggests WMI is not worth much at all.
