Lots of work, was my family's farm bike for years.

Saw a mint one in Tokyo last year and got inspired. Hope to restore it with my kid as a project for him so he can learn to ride

Yes! I want to do this!!

Making a custom layout for my digital dash.
Thoughts?

Seems to fit the theme of MAGA but more arrogance.

Might see if I can make the background change on redline for a combination of the two.

Powertune digital dash.

Basically a raspberry pi

AH. I remember when that was launched. I threw the image of mine up and the kid knew exactly who I was when I did it.

I'm doing another currently from scratch this time. 5" wide screen.

Not much to update.

Dash insert turned up today and I test fitted the screen. Had to slightly enlarge the mount holes due to differences in the Powertune vs. the insert. (As they are both 3D printed).

Waiting on the pilot lights (Turning up Tomorrow/Friday).

Waiting for stage 4 restrictions to ease up before I get a wheel alignment and put some km's on it.

Haven't done much lately with the car.

Test fitted the dash on the weekend.
Just need to order some more wiring and DTM plugs.

Then drill the holes for the led pilot lights.
(Indicators, handbrake, high beam and alarm).

Might do fuel level through the Emtron as it has an input.

That's nice, how's the quality of the dash facia?

Pretty happy with it considering the price and lack of support for R31 things in general.
You can tell it's 3D printed, from the back. But otherwise it has a nice paint/finish added to the front size.

I hear crickets....why don't I hear hits of big rpm and Trust goodness!!!!

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Changed position at work and am working EU hours. Daytime is daddy daycare and sleep :P

Hopefully next month more time for fun as I will split my shift between EU and AU time.

Still need to finish wiring the dash and putting some Bosch (oil/fuel) sensors to the Emtron before I drive it again.
Ordered the bits this week, so hopefully get stuck into the wiring with my brother in law once restrictions are lifted.

Very little updates here.
With the new job hours and some other life plans I've had even less time for this.

Still have the dash apart and cannot drive it. Chequered Tuning is booked out for the rest of 2020, so I'm in no rush to get km's on it to get back on the dyno.

So I used this as an excuse for more goodies for the interior & change the standard Trust dump pipe to a Vband as it's a pain to remove and put back on.
Hopefully take it on some drives over the xmas break :)

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.
    • My Nismo 1.5 churps a bit on reverse turns when cold, but besides that feels like a stock diff.
    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
