Sorry Rezz, but somehow I've become the instigator when all I've been trying to do is explain something which is rather black and white, so I'm going to quote Ghostrider one more time... just for old times sake.

So as you can see, I was only acting on his request. :D

Unless of course it was a rhetorical question to begin with.

.....and to the people who think Ti's are slow, we have at least 2 Ti's (RB30ET) here in Victoria which are pulling low 12 - high 11 1/4 mile times, with all electrics intact.   :P

You have been told to leave it alone by 2 moderators on this thread, MANY TIMES, yet you keep trying to stir up the sh!t, but keep it up, as I am not going to retaliate, not on here at least.

You are just fueling your own fire, keep it coming Karina, everyone knows how you won't leave it alone, so just ignore all the moderators and by the way, that's a word you obviously have neither the regard or knowledge as to it's meaning.

Maybe when PRANK reads our PM's you may think differently.

Have a nice day!

Fatz,

Your R31 is by far, not standard suspension.

Your going the same track as Karina, we're talking of improving a stocky, no challenge needed or intended, as your car is not quite a match to a stock R31, or maybe a run against John's (UAS) Z32 might tickle your fancy.

Karina, weight affects more than just quarter mile times. Straight line is passe. Drift is teh ghey. Real corners are good.

Yeah, I know that a stock TI can be quick in corners, it just takes a farking good driver. My completely stock TI ran away from the rest of the SA boys up a road I hadn't driven one night, and that was all the others in silo's and GX's with filter, exhaust, suspension and tyres... But now in the DR30, with bugger all extra power over stock I can get through a set of curves soooooooooooo much faster because the car is lighter and sticks to the road so much better.

I'm much happier with the DR than I was with the TI even though I don't like the round tail lights and other telltail Skyline bits that are on it or the Skyline stigma that goes with it. It's a bit quicker but feels so much better on the road, the only '31 I've been in that comes close is Shannons Pintara but thats got coilovers and new sway bars and stuff that I havent done with the '30

Fatz 4 door probably handles a shitload better because it doesnt have an anchor sitting in front of the front axles anymore.

And I reckon I could whup your 11 sec TI's from one hills town to another

nice, I hope it isn't inappriopriate to ask. But where about's did you get it from? new? used?

No not at all.I got it secondhand from someone over here from these forums. It's a good turbo and as it comes onto boost thru first (read 13psi at 4000rpm) it wheelspins :headspin: and thats with 255's on the ass end.

Just thought I would put a reply to all this crap going on over my turbo conversion. Sheesh, get a life. I am not going to get involved in this debarcle other than to say that in australia, we generally quote power on car brochures etc, as kilowatts, not horsepower, and if I want to make my Ti a sleeper, apart from that being my choice, what better car to do it with than a grandpa car. It will still have all it's electrics, all it's air etc, just bigger brakes and better suspension. I can remember being shocked out of my drivers seat the other day by the crapiest looking 240K that just left me standing at the lights after I heard this strange whizzing noise coming from it. I have to tell you I was impressed, even though I now knew that the car was a sleeper. If I only had one car, and I wasn't an R31 fanatic, (of course I realise that not everyone is, but I am.) I wouldn't bother with something like this. I have a GTS 1 and a GTS 2, they are both great cars, and a lot of fun to drive, now I want something different, and I wouldn't mod the GTS's, not ever.

At the end of the day, if you wanna hang shit on what someone else is doing, thats fine, but don't get involved in character assasinations on this forum. We are all entilted to our opinion, but we don't have to make sure the whole world sees how immature this little thread has become. Now can we all get back on topic, and start talking about our 31's again.

No dramas really.  The R31 mounts bolt straight up, The R31 clutch bolts onto the RB26 flywheel, the powersteer pump pulley did not quite line up so I did not bother re-fitting it, or the air con, I have no idea if that would fit as I did not try it cos I did not want A/C.  The only Major drama was the sump which I had High energy make up and they now have the JIG to remake an RB26 sump for an R31.

The Wiring is fairly straight forward but I decided to make it hard by pulling the whole dashboard out and runing all the wiring behind the firewall and the inner gaurds to hide it all!

It is a great conversion..  Even in stock tune the RB26 is beautifully powered in the lighter R31 shell.  It always leaves a smile on my face!    :)

Really i would like to see how it feels in a 26 powered 31 !

I own an R31 gts1 pretty stock besides slotted rotors and green stuff pads.

Ghostrider for you i am gonig to stick a t04 off the GTS-r on mine with the usual vlt bits with an intercooelr hidden behind a gts II front bumper.

And as for you adam YOU ARE MY HERO you own a dr30 wow and you think its god congratulations but there is only so fast you can go through mountains as you share the road with other drivers same with drag or drift.

yes i am modifying my gts and if you pop the bonnnet it will be hard to pick the conversion i am not cutting holes but with 180 rwkw it could nearly be called a sleeper.

For the record this discussion has been very entertaining and watch out SKY031 is a nazi and is jealous of your cars hence her anger

    • Welcome!  We're not all grumpy.
    • Welcome. We're all grumpy old men (and a few grumpy old women) who are slowly coming to hate these cars. Any of the newer owners who have joined in the last few years are rapidly catching up with us as they realise they have bought a basket case and that parts are getting difficult to find. Just be realistic about your goals. You'll need a fat stack of cash to buy an R34 GTR, and you'd be far better off using that to buy absolutely anything else (ie, shares, a house, scratchy tickets) unless that fat stack of cash is only ~10% of the actual fat stack of cash that you have. You'll never want to drive an R34 GTR on the street if you have fear of it getting destroyed. That's more or less true of the 33s and 32s also. Most of the RWD cars have been drifted backwards into power poles. No-one knows what they are worth these days because they are not changing hands. My car has notionally been down to <$10k value at some point and was probably sellable for $40-$50k in the height of COVID stupidity, but I have no idea what it's really worth now. It's irreplaceable anyway, because... where would I find one to replace it? Being realistic means either paying a lot of cash for a really really clean example that you will only drive on sunny Sundays, or buying one to daily that you will not want to be really really clean, for the same fears of destruction that applies to the GTR. I daily mine and some people think I'm crazy. But....to me it's just a car that I bought last century with the express purpose of driving it as my daily. The silliness that has happened since doesn't affect my original purpose. I have well and truly amortised the initial purchase cost and most (probably all) of the subsequent modification costs. But I don't think I could go out and buy one now to daily.
    • This is insane! The M1 likely to be closed for the entire day!  https://www.abc.net.au/news/2025-05-02/m1-motorway-delays-as-metal-shards-cause-flat-tyres-/105242272
    • Hey everyone! I'm quite young and I don't have enough to get a car right now but I love Nissan Skylines (Specifically the r34 GT-R. I'm so original I know.) and I would love to buy one in the future. I have no background knowledge, only an interest in cars, but I'd love to learn how they work so I can mod in the future. I've done some basic research on what model of Skyline I would start with and what mods to get started with are but nothing else. I'm here to learn! Hope you all have a great day
