Bills 33 Gtst Streeter/track Car

I used the same pump for both, it didn't like the diff oil as it's so thick, so i had to warm it up a little on my ducted heater to make it flow better. The redline oil i got from the Rolan ebay store when they had a 20% off deal. Was $80 delivered for the gallon, normally $99 delivered. I wouldn't use it on a perfect condition gearbox though. If your gearbox has crunching issues, go right ahead. For me, it solved a 4th gear crunch problem but on cold morning starts the first few shifts from 1st to 2nd can be a little knotchy so i shift very carefully. Once its warmed a little it's all good. -
The line i tried to take was a bit tight and i lost the rear + probably a few km/h too quick without any rear wing. Was lucky to get away with that. I used to try take that chicane at 160-170, after that i revised my entry speed to 150-160. The first one was just a few km/h too fast and too much kerb, luckily the front left wheel was still on the tarmac and provided enough grip to flick it the other way.

MLR's 86 not a build thread thread
admS15 replied to The Bogan's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Agree, definitely boring but thats 1 quick lap for such a slow car. At the same track day, a well sorted turbo'd 86 driven by sau member miniwog only managed a second or so quicker. Time attack looking wrx's where doing mid 40's. I did 51's in my 300kw R33. A lot of us where scratching our heads. I suppose the toybarus efficiently use every single available hp. -
Almost as bad as those god damn street racers. Where's Birds?

Not much has been happening with this, just daily driving and enjoying it. Has been running fairly sweet. Being an August built car, she's just turned 22, so i got her some birthday treats to show my appreciation. Fresh engine, gearbox and diff oil as well as fresh fuel and oil filter. Will do plugs on the weekend, all in preparation for some track action. If the weather is good, i'm hoping to get to Phillip island on the 9/9 and then the SAU Sandown day on the 29th. Tyres are looking pretty 2nd hand but im determined to get as much use as i can out of them. Happy just to get out there and have some fun. I'll assess what they look like after PI and if need be, may get a new set. -
My contribution to make Leigh feel safe When that happens you've pushed too hard or royaly f**ked up.

Can confirm Sandown kills brakes. Have spent more on brake pads than i have on tyres over the last 3 years. Cheap rda rotors lasted well, the rears finally gave up and developed cracks after 20+ track days, definitely got my moneys worth from them. Better than stock brake pads and fluid are a must if you plan on doing more than 1 flying lap.

Try removing and cleaning the iacv valve. Google for instructions. quite easy.

Hi Robyn, i paid for my membership renewal on the 9/8 via PayPal. Pp wouldn't let me put my details in, so i sent an email to sau vic secretary. I haven't gotten a reply and ill need my new membership card in the next 2-3 weeks for an upcoming track day. My email is [email protected] Can you please look into it for me. Thanks in advance.

So what brand and model are the tyres?
-
I've run both on the street and am ok with either. Type d does need a little heat to perform at its best but still works ok cold. If the car is only doing the odd track day here and there then SR is more than enough.
-
20 inch rim and 35 profile tyre is the problem there, not enough tyre wall, not to mention a good quality 20 inch tyre would be big $. An 18 inch wheel with 245/45/18 woul be heaps better.

Intima sr or intima type d for more frequent track use.

2003mdl Autech Axis 209KW AWD 2.5lt turbo 145 000km . Very good condition for age. Some minor Knicks and scratches, nothing big. Totally stock standard except for front brakes which have been upgraded to r34 gtt 4 pot callipers and 310mm discs, intima sr front pads and remsa rear pads. Will also come with standard brakes if you want them. Also fitted with roof rack and alarm/immobilizer. Turbo was replaced at 135k km with a low km (65000) standard unit, oil feed was upgraded to a braided one at the same time. Plenty more life in this turbo. Autech cream leather interior with heated front seats. Ac climate control works beautifully. Has aftermarket Android 5.1 head unit, cd/dvd/nav/obd reader system with 2017 navteq maps and hobdrive obd software connected to factory bose sound system. Spark plugs and diff/transmission fluids replaced at 120k and wont need to be done again till at least 200k. Coolant done at 140k. Engine Oil and filter will also be replaced prior to sale. I have serviced this car personally and oil has been replaced every 5k km using penrite synthetic. This car has been well looked after and has plenty of life left in it. Myself and previous owner are both sau members who have treated this m35 well. The only negatives are rear split window in the tailgate doesn't open (possibly the switch), rear tailgate struts need regass or replace. A squeeky bush in the front suspension (only in really cold weather) Reg till 31/10/18 $6200 as is or $6800 with RWC. Located in s.e suburbs of Melbourne. These are old pics but still looks the same. Will update with current pics when i get some time.

Standard inbuilt m35 feature, mine does the same.
-
It doesn't have a timing belt. Chain driven.
-
I just wait till the oil pressure light comes on, that way there's no dirty oil left to contaminate the fresh stuff. Works good

Mine did 163rwkw stock everything, boost t 10psi and a 3inch nismo cat back. No r and r. On a dd roller dyno. Surprised no one has mentioned ls1 yet.
