Process in getting a car engineered?
admS15 replied to Robocop2310's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I wouldn't worry about it unless you actually get put off the road and forced to get engineers, even then it's easier to remove the offending parts get vass certificate and be on your way. Most coppers these days wont give you problems if the car isn't abnoxiously loud and you're not a smart arse. -
The Stock R33 GTR
admS15 replied to Steve85's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Nice pick up Steve. I dare say this is 1 of the very very few gtr's with such low km's. Full stock is the way to keep this thing, with such low k's, id be inclined to keep the standard turbos too. My 2c. -
swap coilpacks around and see if the miss follows them to rule coils in or out. Check coil pack loom.

Will fit with these Easy...

A Boy's Love For His Rb20
admS15 replied to Roy's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
So, shakedown at PI this weekend? -
Should of went power fc, i heard they're good at making sure rods remain inside the block. [emoji6]

I thought about buying it myself (many times) and selling mine. The thought of dealing with people who'd be interested in a R33 made me cringe. Lol.

If its not obnoxiously loud and you don't drive like a dickhead, you'll be fine. I've daily driven mine for the last 3 years, other than 1 booze bus and 1 speeding fine, never been pulled up or hassled for anything else. The car is far from stock but is always kept clean, presentable and not loud. Has big wheels(that fit within the guards), tyres, brakes, roll cage, bucket seat, aftermarket carbon (painted) front bar and body kit, fibreglass front fenders, wide over fenders at rear, carbon bootlid(unpainted), lowered on coilovers, aftermarket arms and swaybars. I don't frequent hotspots like chapel st or any sort of street drags, thats asking to be put off the road. Imho a lightly modded car, that has all the basics done, cooler, exhaust, ecu etc is the way to go. Try to find a car that has been looked after, dont buy anything that looks mistreated. Good luck with your search, hope you find a good example.

Bills 33 Gtst Streeter/track Car
admS15 replied to admS15's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Decided it was time to replace the plugs on this nugget and thought it would be a good idea to do a comp test while i was there. Results where pretty good, ranged from 156 - 161 psi. Number 4 was the lowest with 156, the rest where 160 ish. Not bad considering this engine has done around 20-25 track days, 200k+ km and is 23 years old. When i first bought the car 3 years ago, the engine tested around 165-170 ish on the same gauge from memory. So im pretty happy with todays result. RB25 toughness. Results below, from 1 to 6 And gotta love e85, look how clean the plugs where after around 15k -
Custom exhaust from good local exhaust shop, reasonable size mid muffler and varex remote control muffler at back. Leave home quietly without waking up the neighborhood or old mate copper and then release the hounds when all clear. My 2c. I prefer mild steel over stainless, less raspy and deeper sound imo. Titanium = great=$

RB26 intake manifold on RB20
admS15 replied to Hcr32typem's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
How?[emoji854] -
Work and home is safe you say. R33 GTST is the only contender here. Wire in a couple of secret kill switches for those random car parks and be done with it[emoji854]

Have you driven it on the street with those. The noise.. So when is it's maiden voyage to wakefield in it's new improved form.

Ive got a girl too, she loves sitting in the drivers seat of the skyline pretending she's driving. Expecting another girl early Jan. Will be double trouble.
-
Congrats mate[emoji106] welcome to fatherhood. Boy or girl?

I did the same and as in the screenshot i posted about 10 posts up, no skylines (all series) have been recalled and no Nissan prior to the year 2000.
-
Pretty sure no skylines are on the recall list. This is the list of affected Nissans, i obtained this from the link on iron chefs website. The list was compiled by the Jap ministry of transport.
