  1. Exactly, inbetween is useless, I haven’t had a chance to play with it too much as straight after the exhaust was fitted it went in a shop and I haven’t got it back yet. But two short drives was enough to annoy me to the point where I’ll be hard wiring it! Lol
  2. And yes, it is big, got mine as high up as I could get it, I think it’s not too bad but some mates have made comments about the size. my exhaust is 4’ from turbo back
  3. The remote opens and closes the flap in stages and when you’re in the car, you never know where it’s at, sometimes it doesn’t work, the range from the transponder to the remote is shit, I’m going to put a switch in mine as soon as I get it back, 2 settings, open and closed. Just to keep it simple. They are good and it will be quiet when it’s closed, just don’t give it a hard time when in the closed position (obviously)
  4. I’ve just installed a motec ecu in my GTR, the motec has it’s own software for 4wd control which I have, I’ll let you you know how it is when I get the car back, although it would be an expensive way to do it, if solely for the 4wd control
  5. Shoota, I’ve got that varex on my car, it’s really quiet when closed, I’d recommend you hard wire a switch in the car to open/close it as the remote is a pain in the arse!
  6. Thanks Steve, it’s coming along, I’ve got a few little things to fit when I get it back, really can’t wait to see what this Motec is like with the DBW, traction and 4wd control
  7. Almost done! Was going to be ready yesterday but a few delays means next week some time. Very happy with how it’s all come together. The boys at Powertune have done an awesome job of putting this together.
  8. What’s the lowest built number R32 in Australia? I remember coming across a post a while ago about this, not sure if it was here or a F/B page. My old GTR was BNR32000198, this car is currently owned by a member of my family.
  9. With turbo selection, I highly recommend the 64/66 for an rb 26, it’s a really good match, will make as much as 550kw, comes on nice and pulls hard on boost
  10. Yep! What he said, you’ll easily spend your budget around the engine, without even touching it! Good fuel system, decent catch can set up, intercooler, oil cooler, Coil packs, trigger kit, ecu... then you got, wideband, oil, fuel and coolant sensors maybe flex fuel. Let’s not forget clutch, brakes, suspension, gearbox. They are a fkn money pit! But you ask anyone that owned one, when you get it on a nice open road, there is nothing on the planet like it! it will 100% be worth it...if you make it to the end Goodluck my friend!
  11. There is a product called throttle coat, look it up, I believe the throttle bodies are coated from factory, if this coating has been removed when they were cleaned it makes a slight whistling noise. This could be your issue. You touched in this in your first post so you’ve obviously been made aware of it. It will be a pain to rectify as your plenum will need to come off again to fix if (if that’s the problem)
  12. And I’ll also have cruise control! Lol
  13. Well car is getting more work done! Head is off (as it was pushing coolant) went for a head service and ended up replacing the entire valve train along with camshafts. So will now have a supertech shimless setup with 10.8mm 278 cams, a couple of little changes to the surge tank lines to clean things up in the boot. Probably the most exciting thing is I’m doing a DBW setup, it’s a custom job and I can’t wait to see the results, both visually and practically. I’ll post up some pics when I get the car back.
  14. This is not my car but it’s what I bought, gives you control of the 4wd, boost, launch control, rolling anti lag etc, and it’s tucked away neatly in the centre console
  15. Hi Steve, how you been mate? my car is a long way from what it was when I bought it, lol car is making 518kw, the factory box was howling before I took it out, I actually had a 6 speed getrag to go in but the sequential popped up and I grabbed it (impulse buy) lol. Its been a roller coaster ride again, but it’s getting there. I’m looking forward to getting it back and going for a decent drive in it. the motec package Powertune offer is really cool, and most importantly, stealth.
  16. Well haven’t been on here for a while, still got the car and still throwing money at it. Currently it’s now fitted with a PPG sequential gearbox and I had a custom 4’ exhaust made for it, 4’dump pipe, ceramic coated, new turbosmart 50mm pro gate which is now plumbed in, 4’ cat which continues right through to a 4’ varex muffler. It’s at Powertune at the moment getting a Motec fitted and flex tuned. Haven’t had the car for about 10 weeks so I’m looking forward to getting it back and spending some time in the drivers seat.
  17. Just jumped on and read the comments, was entertaining [emoji23][emoji23]
  18. Want, did they x ray the block before putting it together? Did it show up anything? On topic, I have done quite a bit of research into block braces, I’ve spoken to PRP and RIPS both obviously recommend their products. The RIPS brace incorporates girdle and billet main caps where as the PRP is just the brace and you use the standard girdle and mains caps. There was some talk of the billet main caps failing but when speaking to Rob from RIPS he said he has never had an issue and is running 1800+hp . Should also note when I spoke to him it was in reference to RB30 bottom ends. I’m surprised yours failed so quickly, do you know what size pistons you were using? Did you go 86.5 or did you have to go 87? I would say go the PRP brace and 1/2 grout fill. I want to brace mine but after speaking to a few shops I’m going to leave it, the motor needs to be torn down to do it and if I’m going to do that then I’m going a nitto 3.2 stroker kit, you can pick up rb30 blocks for 300-$400 so I’m just going to slowly build a short motor then if mine let’s go bolt my head and sump to it.
  19. I believe Action Dan did a thread on it, https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/468151-getrag-parts-discontinued/
  20. Following as I’m very interested in this, currently doing a getrag conversion in my 32 as it was the cheapest option to upgrade, with the only other options being PPG dogbox at 10k used or sequential for 22k new. The other option is OS gearset but there is mixed reviews on those. Parts for the getrag are scarce so not sure what going to happen when we can’t repair/rebuild them
  21. Fuel system was done by DVS Tuning, radium surge tank with twin walbro 460’s staged and another walbro in the main tank feeding the surge tank. It’s unbelievably quiet, I’m very happy with it. Supports my 500kw and is good for substantially more should I wish to pursue more power in the future. This is why I upgraded the alternator
