Dude, it's a run off the mill Skyline not some Ferrari F40 or Hakosuka.

Didn't take photos, but I realised when I was hanging a shit I popped the rear shim behind the crank timing belt pulley backwards. Spoke to a few people and @NEO25T and they said it should be ok backwards as the belt is front bias and as long as the front (outter most) shim is facing the right way it should be fine. But... Me being me, tore it all down and fitted it properly. Also last night tightened the sump up, installed cross member, unstrapped the motor, installed castor rods, anti roll bar and all the over bullshit. Sinco manifold should get here by end of week, just got the shipping details. Once the turbo rear turbine housing comes, I'll bolt up the lot and work out how I will do the lines. Thinking of fitting a turbo oil filter on the chassis with a P clamp so it's out of the way. More money to waste, and I am being made redundant end of March lol.

HKS GTIII-5R - T51R replacement
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to BK's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yes! Good stuff man, glad we all knocked sense into you! (waits for the Precision hating lot to chime in) -
Then blame the injectors and/or cams for the poor cold start, funny how many times I've heard this.
-
If so, why don't you do it yourself?

Lol.. Scaling up all the sensors properly, checking all the inputs and outputs are setup correctly already takes up a couple of hours. Then you'll need to spend at least 2 to 3 hours on the dyno followed by some road tuning to refine it. Now.. say "if" you've setup all your IOs properly and setup all your transient, cold starts, hot starts properly then sure.. 2 to 3 hours is fine. However, I have NEVER seen a car given to me that has been running properly. Every single one has had fuel pressure problems or IOs setup wrong or EBCs connected wrong etc. Also it's a Skyline with some bolt ons, doubt anyone will pinch anything if they're a large enough shop.

Rb25de+t compression results
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to Vicariousness's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Just add more boost to make up for the apparent low compression -
Round 2 on the oil pump, this time started with a brand new N1 pump, took out N1 gears and popped in Rev. 2 of the Spool Import gears. Fingers crossed everything goes to plan this time round.

Misfiring on boost?

Doubt it, could be pure coincidence. Checked fuel pressure yet? -
R33 GTR Build
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to AntsR33GTR's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
wow, solid stuff man - love seeing data, like they say without data it's just an opinion. -
Get a deep cycle Optima, they're back to normal again. There was a period a few years ago, when they were made in Mexico they were horrible and swelled OR died within a year.
-
easiest way is to pop them on a flow bench and look at the spray pattern and flow rates

HKS GTIII-5R - T51R replacement
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to BK's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
talk to Tao from @hyper-gear he can mix and match wheels to suit your requirements, GCG pretty much just grab an off the shelf CHRA and mill stuff out to suit. -
HKS GTIII-5R - T51R replacement
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to BK's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
You can mill out your compressor and turbine housing to suit larger wheels, etc. Tao from @hyper-gear is based in Victoria and has made countless turbos for Skylines, he sponsors John Richardson's R33 GTS-t (the WTAC car) and I believe the Top Stage S14 as well. I am surprised you have no idea who he is or who Hypergear is. I'm not a fan of GCG's ability to build turbos, they're great at selling off the shelf items however. -
HKS GTIII-5R - T51R replacement
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to BK's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
If you're after the minimum fuss approach, my best advice is to get someone like Tao from @hyper-gear to fit a new modern, ball bearing CHRA with a modern compressor and modern turbine wheel to your front compressor housing and rear turbine housing. You'll have a performing turbo, that some what "bolts in" and looks JDM as FK yet performs much better than whatever HKS has to offer. Plus you'll have left over coin for a re-tune. -

Because one can assume they're over priced and will under perform against expectations -
Rb25de neo to rb25det neo
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to Whiteysr34's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
or just buy my Hypergear ATR45SAT 0.82 with 3" v-band, I'll throw in a 4" stainless intake, a 4" pod and a 3.5" stainless dump all for $1100. -
Your tuner is a moron, find a new one. I run 1550cc injectors and my car doesn't die at the lights nor does it flood the engine.

R34 walbro 255 fuel pump
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to drifter17a's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Do not do this on a warm day, there will just enough fuel vapours and just enough air to ignite, just as the match goes down into the fuel neck lol
