  1. Wow a 3.4l, very nice. I know the RBs are built to rev. I know it will never drive as nice as my auto F6. But I would rather have a 900hp car that I can drive in morning traffic then brag about a piece of paper with 1000hp on it and need 6000rpm just to get the beast going of the lights. By the sounds of things I have a very limited choice and slight more of this or that won't make much difference. Thanks for the help.
  2. I may be interested just waiting on some advice from my builder and Kelford.
  3. I know it's not every ones first choice but I love the new paintwork. Now what should I go with for the wheels???
  4. Hoping it will make all the power before 8000rpm.
  5. Rb2630. 3L 87mm pistons with 9.0 to 1 compression ratio. Turbo is twin scroll ball bearing with a twin gate manifold. Running E85
  6. Seems to be a universal answer these days when it comes to Camshafts and head parts in general. Cheers. I should clear something up. I am not chasing a magical 1000awhp. I just want to max out the turbo from time to time. I am told that they are capable of that number though.
  7. Thank you GTSBoy. It's amazing how things change when you jump up from 700hp to 1000hp.
  8. Compared to my two old LM turbos this will be like driving an naturally aspirated engine. Lol
  9. Hello boys and girls. So the bottom end has been sorted with spool rods, Ross 9.0-1 Pistons. Air will be supplied by a GTX4294R turbo. 3x Bosch 044s will be pushing E85 fuel through 2000ID injectors. Now what to do about the head? This will be my daily driver so I am looking at drivability over top end grunt. What Camshafts would you suggest and why? Is it still better to go for more lift over duration or does the higher compression ratio and a bigger bottom end help lag enough that you can go 270+ duration with no major issues?
  10. Bottom end has been prepped and billet caps have been fitted. We were talking with the owner of the workshop how project objectives change over time. I started with a simple repair and a few paint touch ups. Then it was an engine rebuild and a single turbo conversion with the result being around 600awhp. After that, due to a personal injury which required surgery we went back to a simple freshen up of the turbos, some paint and selling the car. Then some change in fortune and we are in the process of putting together a 1000hp rb26/30 GTR.
  11. Among all that is a complete GTX4294R twin pulse, twin gate turbo kit and a fuel system big enough to go over 1000hp
  12. Well it's been another long break since the last update. Nothing brightens up a day like a box full of engine goodies. Once again, huge thank you to GhostK for his help with parts. Rods Pistons Rings Bearings Belt Tensioned Water pump Tomorrow I hope to get the huge turbo kit GTX4294R Gates Manifold Dump Screamers 2000id injectors Fuel pumps Fuel rail Surge tank I think that's it Already have the RB30 bottom end with the 4WD sump adaptor
  13. Just wanted to thank the vendor. Pleasure to deal with. Upfront, honest and willing to work together for mutual benefit. Shame you don't own a store. Would definitely deal with you again. Can't wait to see those parts help me fry some tyres. Thanks again.
  14. Got a few new parts. In tank twin 044 setup with surge tank Fuel rail with ID 2000cc injectors Rb30 bottom end with AWD sump adaptor plate. Water pump Getting closer to full Perth list
  15. Needs a new boot lid. Had it all properly washed and polished. Looks allot better but will get it reprayed.
  16. Well it's been a few months since any updates. Allot has happened. Almost sold the car due to a health scare but luckily all is well. A few cheap parts have jumped out and changed my plans. So now I'm going with an RB 26/30 combo. Have a block Rods 9-1 Pistons Bearings GTX4294 twin scroll turbo Twin gates and manifold Should make for a nice 800hp at the wheels combo on e85
  17. Would you consider selling the turbo kit? Turbo, manifold, gates, dump pipe and all the lines/fittings? If yes, how much?
  18. I'm building a 2.6 as we speak. Turbos have come such a long way in the last few years. You can get a large (800-900hp capable) single turbo that responds as well as stock Low mounts if not better. Then there is the availability of e85 fuel. Motive Gtr has made 500kw at the wheels on a stock bottom end. When I handed my car in and said I want 450awkw from 98ron fuel, the owner said "no problem". So the answer is "yes" you can make huge power on a 2.6l motor.
  19. Ok so take my engine specs for example. 2.6L, Como ratio upped to 9.0. 260/10.8 cams with e85 I the tank. Would that be responsive enough for circuit work if I stay with the IWG rear housing?
  20. Fair call on all accounts. Once again, I never said Efr are a bad turbo. If I have angered any one. I apologise. Staying on topic. How would the 9180 iwg go on the 2.6L in terms of lag and response?
  21. Wow. You just might get to 5540kw. Holy crap. I'm going the 6466 way also. Goal is over 700 on e85 and 600 on 98. Slighter bigger cams then what you have. Slightly higher comp ratio to help low and mid range. Thank you for the info.
  22. Geoff I never said EFR are a bad turbo. Every one here acts like I insulted there kids. My money, my choice. Like it or not. What do you care what I buy. It's just a thread about just a turbo.
  23. We were all very impressed and kinda worshipped you for a while. Thanks for ruining it. So what sort of fuel system are you running. Fuel pump and injector size? Please
