  1. Ha haha this is such a BMW thing to do. My sports seats (from an M Sport) had the same plugs with the non sports I was replacing ... But .. the pins were in different locations. No more making fun of my cars D. OMG, so satisfying! Well done! That's pretty shit about the steps. Does this mean you bought the replacements? Surely, legally, they need to provide those conditions with the part?
  2. I wonder how that evo boot lid sounds when you're cranking your drum n bass.
  3. Nope, 3 young guys who were staff at Ludddnham. Besides them there were 3 others manning the desk and coffee machine.
  4. Good thing I've been keeping up with The Lock Picking Lawyer videos.
  5. Had my first Luddenham Raceway day yesterday, I thought I'd share my experience. We arrived a little early, I was a bit surprised at how few undercover car spots there were. It wasn't a full day but the undercover spots were almost all gone. Registration was pretty easy but there were very few staff there, if you arrived in a group I reckon you'd be registering forever. Drivers briefing was held by 3 guys that looked, and sounded, 19 - 20 years old. They advised that if you wanted somebody to pass you to user your indicators or wave your arm out the window! 😮 Our group was massive! I was in the intermediate group. Beginners had about half as many and the fast group had 3 cars. 3. At no point during the day did they try to level out the groups despite several cars in intermediate being faster (or as fast) as the guys in the fast group. I know of 1 driver who asked to move and they facilitated this. 1 lap into the first session and a clubman comes off and lightly hits one of the only walls available to hit. Rather than wave the cars past the clubman so we could return to pit, they made a line of us stay on the track while they, very casually, grabbed the small amount of debris and used their little ATV to drag the car off to the side. Note that there was only a small amount of coolant on the track so they weren't leaving us there to clean up spilled oil. In the fast group session before I went out on the next session an M2 came off and cracked his oil pan. He didn't know and continued around the track. He pretty much dumped his 6L of oil on the entire racing line. A few cars went out from my group only to slide all over the place and they stopped the session. Here's where it gets funny/strange/concerning. The entire intermediate group were lined up to go out when the 3 kids started making noise about the oil. We were all ready to go with cars running when the kids moved to the track to look at the oil (which we didn't know about). They kept looking around while we waited. Eventually, after about 15 mins we got out of the cars as the kids started to put sand on the oil at the end of the straight. We all assumed that was the extent of the oil. Then they started moving around the track, whie we waited ready to go. We started talking amongst ourselves and noticed the oil line around the track. We had to come to the conclusion that they were going to clean the entire track. Nobody spoke to us about this. after 30 mins in line, we all moved our cars back to the under cover spots. After about an hour and noticing how slow they were going, my mate and I thought we'd duck into town to get some early lunch, check air and fill up. But (ready?) the gate to leave was locked. No drama, my mate went down into reception to ask to get out. They didn't have a key! The only people with a key were the kids on the track cleaning up. We could not leave! The guys next to us decided to go home after about 1.5hrs but they couldn't. Told the same as us and when they requested one of the kids come back to open it, the kid said no and that he'd finish cleaning first. Apparently this was 'policy'. When this bloke stressed how bad this was he was told to calm down and that he was causing the staffer to be uncomfortable. We were all stunned! What if there was a medical emergency? A fire? Anything! We were quite literally locked in. So, we decided we'd just eat there. The pie oven at the 'cafe' had a total of 3 sausage rolls and 1 pie. That was it for food. And, despite the insanely unfriendly messages everywhere about a $150 cleanup fee if you bring food in, we ordered some chow on Menu log which was excruciatingly expensive and only had 1 cafe option. After about 2.5hrs (give or take) the track was ready to be used again. I only managed one more session before I got an engine light about low boost. It was ok after cooling down but I left it just incase as I know my wastegates are having problems and I didn't want to properly break anything. The guy who broke his sump was charged $51 per bag of sand. A total of $1100. He had to settle this before anybody was let out! My thoughts on the track; Its very tight. I was having a hard time finding any rhythm and felt like I was just shifting the entire time. I went out as passenger in my mates 130i and it was awesome, he was doing really well and I'm sure I'd be more comfortable with more sessions under my belt. The paddles in my car are very fast but I can't hear the engine so kept thinking I'd gone down a gear and I hadn't (because car wouldn't shift down when revs are too high) which caused me to bog down and then shift more. Couldn't believe there was no air on the premises. And, because we were locked in so much we couldn't go and adjust. In the end though, massive bad taste in my mouth. Felt like nothing was being taken seriously and that ultimately, nobody that worked there gave 2 shits about our experience. If I was paying to do an escape room I could still get out if I needed to. Being locked in was just absurd. Many drivers just kept talking about how much better Wakefield is. Word is, its opening in November, so I probably wont return to Luddenham after this day.
  6. It looks like it's squatting to take a shit.
  7. I don't think OP actually exists but I do like seeing you go off at it.
  8. Yeah I'd agree with that. My Gtst had a gutted cat. Made people sick behind me. Now I'm keen to buy high flow dumps for the 335i and they're twice as expensive as the catless dumps! Its not surprising why people ditch them. Btw, this looks familiar... https://www.cumminsforum.com/threads/butterfly-valve-on-exhaust.1342561/
  9. I tried that but half my crap is on the driveway.
  10. Yep cool, it definitely looks scary on Youtube
  11. Oh, I meant more about the internals if I was going to put a quaife in or similar. Thanks for this, I'll reach out and get some figures. I do think its going to be damn pricey though.
  12. Could still be wheel bearings. Or a diff? Dunno if that's a whistle, probably more a whir. Sounds like the rear is unrelated? Hard to diagnose anything with the amount of info though. YOu could get under the back and just check everything is tight ?
  13. The 'ol single spinner ain't gonna be fun much longer as I start to add a bit of power. I haven't hit the track in the 335 but I did a few in the 330 and even with a lot less power the need for an LSD was there. I'm throwing around some options, all of which are out of my price range atm (a fair few maintenance items to do first). Quaife is up there but there is a mob in the states that have a helical LSD shipped to me for around $1300 USD which seems reasonable. A few guys are going 8.8" ford but I don't want to have to deal with modified housings or shafts or anything. Makes life difficult in the future. Ultimately I'd love a BMW LSD that would just be a straight swap but they rarely come up. Do I need to get these installed with some kind of specialist diff mob? Its definitely not something I'd try on my own. Thanks guys.
  14. Might be worth just starting with some basic measurements of the mounts and caliper height. I don't recall ever seeing the brakes swapped out before. I believe S14, R32 and Z32 all use the same mount (But I could definitely be wrong). If you can't find any other help, maybe see if you can find some measurements of these calipers to see how different an adapter would be? Good luck, keep us updated.
  15. Nice one. Make sure you start a build thread, I know there'll be lots of people keen to follow on. Welcome!
  16. Yep, this was confidence inspiring I knew if I stuffed it up I'm only $200 away from a fresh one.
  17. Love your work guys thanks. @Duncani was going to wiggle the wheel that was my next test.
  18. I'm trying to prep the dirty 30 (330i) for sale. One issue I have is that the car becomes deafening at around 60 - 70kph. The noise is definitely wheel speed related rather than revs. It sounds like loud-tyre noise but amplified 10 times. There doesn't seem to be grinding or metal-on-metal etc. I've done the diff fluid on this car about 12 months ago. I believe the noise was occuring then also. Made no difference. I'm leaning toward bad bearing (passenger side done last year) but I've never heard of them being *this* loud. You honestly can't have a conversation. Any ideas? Thanks guys.
  19. I had a big dent on the boot. I'd already decided to either get a new boot lid or even just a small lip wing that would go over the dent so I figured i'd try to fix it myself. Before; So, I attacked it with a slide hammer, some glue and a microfibre-wrapped hammer. Gotta say, I was pretty impressed. Its not perfect but I don't hate looking at it now.
  20. You're not the only one in this boat. 🙄
  21. Found a rare moment of motivation and energy on the weekend. Drained the power steering reservoir and replaced it. The reservoir contains a non servicable filter and who knows how old it is. New genuine reservoir and then flushed contents 4 or 5 times with Liqui Moly CHF11S. Steering was a touch heavy and occasionally clicky, the fluid that came out was a bit nasty and while steering is still heavy (compared to the 330i), its no longer clicking. Also, as all the front and rear windscreen seals are shot, I got to removing the old ones and managed to fit the new rear upper. I need to source a new front lower seal but I'm getting a new windshield in next week due to a crack so I'll do front after that. New upper rear looks so nice. I checked the brake fluid and found there is so much sediment in there. I actually bought a front pair of 335i calipers to put on the 330i but never used them. I'm going to clean them up and paint them silver, I'll do the seals in them while they're out and then when I fit them I'll put in the HEL braided lines I've got and flush all the brake fluid. I'll try to source some nice pads and DBA T2's in the meantime so I can just get all the brakes done in one go.
