  1. Update. Today saw a huge milestone - the car has been removed from the garage - where it has sat for the last 26 months and delivered to the workshop shop. Hoping to have it back by end of the week. D
  2. Update Last Tuesday I got the gearbox installed backed into the car - and spent the last few nights in the garage finishing a few things off - like installing a new battery. Decided I will now drop the car off to a workshop to do all oils (engine, diffs, coolant, transfer, gearbox), fabricate my Trust dump flange to my ARC 4" Titanium exhaust, new breather hoses, and fittings, and some other minor finishes I want doing. Visited a few workshops last week and had had some conversations - pretty much decided on the shop I want to use - so now just waiting for their call back....... hoping to have it at the shop late this week - so close very close now. A couple snaps under the car while installing box .....
  3. Well Done Benny! Your patience has paid off to the highest level - so hard to get top quality GTRs now - and those who have the special ones rarely sell ? Really happy for you mate - looking forward to seeing / reading more - following your thread with great interest - please keep us posted..... and there is no such thing as to many pictures....... so get them up! Congrats again mate. Dan
  4. Box is fixed - working like a dream on the bench. Will get it home now and put it back in, at the same time have some fab work done to connect the dump pipe to the titanium exhaust. Had the oil collector modified by cutting off the bungs and replacing with fittings and power coating - so will needs some new breather lines made and installed. And a couple other little things ...... Now to decide on a workshop! This is my other nightmare! Anyway end appears to be in sight ;)
  5. Well its been a while. Without going into to much detail - after waiting nearly a year to get my box back - got it back in non - working order! Was so farken over all the delaying, bullshit, lying etc - just put it all aside while calmed down and had a think about my next move - was sooo over it all. Came closing to selling the car as I was so pissed with the ordeal. In the end I ended up packing the box up and shipping it to PerfOURmance Motorsport in Brisbane. Should have just farken done that to start with - live and learn. After receiving the box and stripping it - they found the issue immediately - plus a handful of other "not right" things...... Gearbox was not assembled correctly / poor dodgy workmanship / clueless muppets - contributed to new parts that were bent and not aligning properly, items where welded that shouldn't have been, etc, etc Just big time consuming expensive mess. So had to re-order some parts, to replaced the farked new ones I had already ordered and previously waited for - as well as other items that PerfOURmance suggested I update. So basically lost a year in time and a bunch of $ on new parts to replace the new parts I had already ordered but were farked by the first muppet in his attempt to assemble the box.......??? So now box is nearly ready - hopefully shipping back to Perth next week......... so close now. Car has now been off the road for 2 years due to this sh*t - but the end is near. Big lesson learnt............ Pics to follow......

  7. symptoms of f**ked Air Flow Meters. My old 33R did the same - would drive fine when cooler - once it was warm it would start doing random misfires, shuddering etc. Replaced the AFM's and was back to driving like new. I would guess they became dirty / flowed sitting in a dusty paint shop for a year. Assuming you still have AFM's that is.
  8. That car was for sale on Gumtree - was in Bunbury or Mandurah from memory - correct?
  9. Well its been a while. GTR is still off the road - hasn't moved in the last 15 months. Gearbox is back with all new parts - but the shop was unable to re-assemble it correctly - so box is now sitting next to my car in the garage awaiting my next move. Not sure whether I spend more money to have the box re-assembled - or just hold off and get a new PPG or Holinger........ or do I just sell the car and move on. Owning a big HP GTR is a emotional experience In the mean time - to help with my depression - I bought a new daily........
  10. Just bought a MY16 STI last week as a daily - Love it - good luck with the sale.

  16. Check this out - prices have further skyrocketed .... this guy believes so https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/leederville/cars-vans-utes/1996-nissan-skyline-r33-gtr-v-spec-ii-silver/1161617390 What do you say.....lol
  17. It certainly does. Quaife - Holy Sh*t what a experience !!! So as above I bit the bullet and ordered all the parts I needed - this was late Jan/early Feb. Couple minor items were on the shelf - but gears, selectors, new input shaft (they said they had a updated better version so I ordered that as well) would need to be made - as its not a production box anymore - I would have to wait for them to do between regular production. Here we are 10 months later - still nothing! Been told for last couple months my stuff was ready - but I've seen nothing! Not sure its if Quaife or there agent we're dealing with in NZ who arranged it all - or a combination of both! Im just really now starting to want to drive the car again - so its really starting to get to me......... Once the box is back together (hopefully ) - I will order all new gears 1 - 6 , some selectors, another input shaft and put them away - that way I have a rebuild kit for later / spares on hand. Eventually one day - Holinger... but for now I'm sticking to the Quaife (Greddy) - if they ever come through .... Dan
  18. SOLD......... to the man in New Zealand. Thanks Matt. Dan
