  1. Yes I have had the "what's wrong with your car look". If that's the reason not to get a multiplate your in the wrong car. Right ?
  2. What's with the attitude ? Was not trying to be rude. Not making anything up, released was a shit term to use. I could use the term released as my foot not on the clutch, for example (clutch pedal is released). It was very clear what I meant, not what you meant. Having a go is not what I meant at all. I was not having a go, only clarifing. All multiplates generally do the rattle when depressed / disengaged mate, that's what I was getting at.
  3. Um, when any clutch is engaged, how can it be noisy ? It's clamped so where is this noise you speak of coming from ? Do you mean disengaged (foot on clutch) and makes the signature Multi plate rattle, which all multiplates do ?
  4. Absolutely true, but can't hurt though if it is installed ? Still creates that extra path for the sump gasses, even if it's not "technically" a head drain. I wouldn't go through the trouble of ripping the head of just for a head drain though.
  5. It's pretty funny that all the big workshops still do it then eh ? CRD, Maatouks ect. I totally agree with the oil control thread with the head drains being more sump breathers rather than oil returns. That said my 32 has one direct to sump and the 2nd 32 we have just done this as you mentioned to the rear unused turbo oil return in block, it can't hurt. I spoke in detail with Con from CRD about this, and decided to go through with it after that. One thing in the oil control thread which is good in theory, but really a bad idea is the enlargening of the block oil return galleries. Yes it will work for the purpose of the oil side, but as someone who has cracked RB26 blocks before I'd never do it. The last thing I want to do is weaken the already fairly fragile RB26 block, which is also why the big workshops don't do it. I'll take block integrity thanks.
  6. Look it's rwd, the right single will hold it, but a multiplate is obviously better for more surface area, therefore better torque holding. Your overthinking it. Personally I'm not a fan of the Nismo clutches, had one once, never again. That's in launched GTRs, they just don't last repeated 7000+ rpm 4WD launches (waits for the Nismo coppermix brigade to chime in saying they are the best clutch ever). Anyway sounds like you've got your mind made up so I don't really understand why you're still asking. Buy one, try it, let us know what you think.
  7. Look just buy a clutch and try it, it won't be the last one you ever buy. But to answer the question again: Nismo more driveable but would hold less power than the Xtreme twin. Xtreme twin less progressive, but you can't have your cake and eat it too. (compared to a standard organic full face clutch anyway.) If that is your choice of clutches, personally I'd go with the xclutch on price, and ACS after sales support in Adelaide is really really good. They supplied me with all the ATS carbon triple clutches too/
  8. It will be fine for what you want, but ceramic tears the shit out of flywheels.
  9. 9k rpm in an RB30 ? with stock valve springs in a neo head? With shim over bucket ? With Tomei type A cams which are 252 duration ? Hmmmm....ok.
  10. Yes you're right Ben, that 3 port setup is a bit WTF. It does say for obtaining max boost for 3 port, so I can only assume you'd use this method with a 3 port solenoid and a weak gate spring, but I still don't like the look of that method. I wouldn't do it and can't say I've seen that before. Common method for above would use a 4 port like this: More common method for 3 port is like this, he should just do it this way. At least it will work properly.. (I've always used this method for single turbo / external gate)
  11. Holy shit, really ?! Small world. Wow, man haven't been out there in years now, Work, Old, kids, yeah. What happened to Oscars GTR ? Let me know on the cams. We were going to use them on the new white R32 GTR, but my Dad will be driving it on street mostly, and it is 2.6 with T78-29D so stock cams went back in.
  12. Welcome ! Wow, I hope you have assessed how much money you are about to part with to restore that, let alone modifying it (if you want to) Good luck with it !
  13. Hi there. Have some good Camtech cams basically new, not drop in, but you don't want drop ins because it limits the lift you can run. Cams have changed a lot now too, and Kelfords and Camtech in Australia are arguably considered a lot better than the Jap offerings because of their ramp rates. Specs below or go to Camtech site. Camtech CT3536/37 445B R32 / R33 RB26 inlet / exhaust camshafts - 272 deg. 9.7mm lift. Trial fitted only. They do require slight clearancing on head because of the lift.
  14. It's actually cheaper to properly convert to all the genuine Nissan push gear than the giken converter. I've done that on the 33 - push slave, line, box front cover, release fork, bearing and bearing carrier.

  16. Cheers man ! Had to put a new battery in it today. A few more shots around the car...
  17. Well here we go again, time to FINALLY as promised start the GODZILR build thread that has been in progress, or shall we say "development hell" for 13 years now - THE MONEY PIT IS HERE ! For more info from the past and the bullshit I've been through with this car, start here Which led to this Then this happened.... The car has been a major pain in the arse for years. After many different setups and rebuilds, I've considered everything from selling it to burning it ! (Well I almost really did as above....). But I didn't. I decided if I'm going to keep it I may aswell go all the way with it, and get it to what I would consider to be a very well rounded street / drag / track setup. Maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel now, as it is finally properly alive and running in the new engine as we speak. I have now done 20km and counting....

hmm dunno about that, maybe. 275/40R17 yes, 275/45R17 that's pushing it.
  19. yes it is the Australian R32 GTR workshop manual you have.
  20. The Aussie 32gtr manual is the complete engine and chassis manual. The 33 manual you speak of is the R33 chassis manual, not the more common 33 engine manual, both sold by jpnz. Don't know of any electronic version out there to download for that manual...
  21. Are you talking about the rear timing plate pipe ? I obtained guard liners already. If so interested.
  22. Hey regarding belts with different balancers. This is info is with the Ross ones I posted a while back for the 32 GTR. As you can see the power steer needs changing from a stock 950 to a 925, but the A/C stays at a 925. Should be something similar, so try the 4PK925 belt first for your A/C.
