Well Labor took them away when Adam Giles and the CLP lost the election 4 years ago, he was cool. When Giles got in the limits were lifted within 3 months. The way it's looking Labor will lose the election this year in the NT because Michael Gunner is a Fckwit, CLP will get in and we'll get them back. Since I've lived here it's always been open, unless Labor is in government. Passing cops at 180 - 200km/h, then pulling away from them at 250+ was pretty cool, and they would just wave at you as long as you weren't all over the place. Not at the moment, get flashed at 140, ticket. Also whenever it's open, all the manufacturers come back to test here. I take it you've seen when Craig Baird was driving in the Porsche 918 on youtube around Alice and Ti Tree, mad prick was doing around 350km/h ! Legally ! I am way off topic.....?

You can't get more bottom end from bigger duration cams, it makes more power up top. Look the cams will probably be good, but don't expect them to improve your low end. For low down power it doesn't get any better than the stock ones. Higher lift with cams is good, but if you like the turbo and want more bottom, it's RB30 time. Sounds like from what you want capacity is the only thing that'll do more low end for you. Bigger turbo, drive it harder. I miss the open speed limits.

Alice mate. Not too many now here either, used to be heaps. Probably about 20 skylines, including 6 or 7 R32-R34 GTR in town and I own half of them. There are 3 R35s in Alice now though. I think you need to talk to Tao from Hypergear in Melbourne for the best stock fitment turbo for your needs. Has a thread in the Forced Induction section. Will definitely get you more power from one of his recommendations.
-
Yes. 33 GTR boxes are not stronger than 32. 450rwkw will break a stock box in the end. Cams are arguably too much duration. Duration moves power up the rev range remember ? Don't waste your time changing from factory radiator unless you are going to track the car. Someone will definitely say to use a different turbo than what you're suggesting to something better for your power goals.

Hi. My god very few people from the NT on here these days, I'm about the main one. Alice or Darwin ? Yes of course cams can give you more power, but at the end of the day, more power, get bigger turbo. What dyno were you on ?

V-Cam or Single turbo conversion ?

Absolutely. Remember the nuggets have modern billet compressor wheels and the latest modern journal bearings though. AND their HKS too remember.... -

R200 30 spline stub axles, which model?
BK replied to 260DET's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
31 spline does not change anything dimension wise compared to the 30 spline, only the shaft is about 1.5mm thicker in diameter. The Nismo GT pro has 3 stage adjustable preload without removing the diff when you pop a half shaft out. Nismo GT is preset. Check the forum, everyone seems well impressed by them. I haven't run the 2 way, but from all accounts there very aggressive, with the 1.5way being a more popular choice. Your easiest, cheapest option for a good result with your existing 30 spline stuff is the Nismo GT, but the PRO isn't that much more expensive as mentioned either. The GT carbon PRO is about $2500 if you feel adventurous. -
I'm running a PWR 42mm on the 32 with a 16psi WRX cap. Seems to be mostly fine but monitoring on the Haltech it definitely runs hotter than the stock radiator with the 62deg Nismo thermostat. I was thinking the calibration within the Haltech Elite is off, but maybe not. Just ordered Stant 16psi lever cap 10333 after reading this and confirming with PWR. There is obviously a reason they recommend it, I let you know if it makes any difference.

R200 30 spline stub axles, which model?
BK replied to 260DET's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Just an update on the 31 tooth spline. Have found old stock to make a pair while available from Japan. Can definitely source R32 right half shaft and R33 left half shaft to make it work. -
V-Cam or Single turbo conversion ?

Wow ! That is not a small change, that is a night and day, no contest difference ! Like to see any twin combo match that spool and mid range punch. -
If it didn't punch a big hole in your piston, that's mad !

R200 30 spline stub axles, which model?

Hang on, you already have purchased a OS giken diff centre ? Obviously not a GTR one if it's a 29 spline, as 33 gtst is 29. I would recommend selling it. If you have a GTR diff housing and the 30 spline 6 X 1 half shafts already a Nismo 1.5 or 2 way is your best bet. From RHD or Nengun a Nismo GT 30 spline centre is only $1200AUD or GT PRO about $1500AUD, which is a hell of a lot cheaper than the OS giken super locks at over $2000. -

As above and mentioned earlier there are other options. Nismo, Kaaz and Cusco all have 30 spline versions. It's funny actually because the current Nismo 1.5 or 2 way GT LSD makes you change R33 and R34 from 31 back to 30 spline. Go figure. The Nismo GT PRO actually comes with half shafts for the centre. -
yeah I suppose so...

R200 30 spline stub axles, which model?
BK replied to 260DET's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
You need late R32 or R33 GTR, 31 spline 1 X 6 half shafts, both of which are discontinued to use an OS giken diff. They do not make a GTR one for 30 spline, that's what I'm sayin. Not sure about 34 being 30 tooth as OS do not say the half shafts need changing, unlike a 89 - 92 BNR32. 31 spline shafts new took 6 months last time to find, and they are at least $900 a pair. Sold my last set to JMS in Adelaide. Brad at JDM garage has a complete R32, 31 spline diff and shafts for $1300 if that's any help. I know couple of people on SAU have bought a diff purely to get the shafts. -

I'm sure I've mentioned all this before on here. The 93-94 R32 GTR rears are actually 31 spline when they changed 32s to pull clutch, but 30 tooth is the early ones when they were push. All OS giken LSDs for GTR as far as I'm aware were only designed for the 31 spline like Quaife diffs. 31 tooth R33 or R32 splines have both been discontinued as of last year, so you're up shit creek if you need them, unless you find somewhere with old stock like I did last year in Japan and bought four sets. R32 GTR 31 spline shaft part numbers are: Right side 38220-12U00 (still available) Left side 38220-12U01 (discontinued) R32 GTR 30 spline shaft part numbers 38220-05U10 and 38220-05U11 and are still available, which is what I guess you already have. Nismo do LSD centre to suit your 30 spline though. -
Who removes individual coilpacks and bolts when doing plugs ? After you pull the coil connectors all off, remove the two brackets that the coilpacks mount to, and pull the coils out mounted to the brackets in groups of 3. Way quicker removing 7 x M10 bolts vs 24 x M6 bolts, brackets are not in the way and won't have to worry about dropping bolts down hole.

Prices AUD for a pair Garrett -9 / -7 ball bearing are $2500 -$3200 HKS GTIII-SS are $4400-$5500 for plain bearing. I think I know which ones most people are going to buy.... -

I have owned and/or driven rb26 motors with stock turbos, R34 N1, -7, -9, -5, -10, GT-SS, 2530, 2540 low mounts over the years. My conclusion is based only on what I've had a chance to drive, hence recommending -9, and settled on HKS GT-SS ball bearing turbos myself. Garrett -9,-7,-5 ect weren't out then and came later, as HKS still had the exclusive Garrett aftermarket rights back in the mid 2000s. I do love the SS / -9, but wish there was something that spooled like them, but had the top end of the -5. -5 top end was pretty good I thought. That would be an ideal combo but without more like a 3 litre bottom end with -5 it doesn't seem possible with twins to get it. -

Joshua you seem to be pushing the new Mitsubishi core HKS gt3-ss turbos like they are a better turbo than the ball bearing Garrett units already available. Spool faster than -9 ? Really ? Do you have any actual experience with them directly ? Or are you just quoting the HKS propaganda ? Of course HKS is going to say their new non Garrett stuff is better than their old Garrett based turbos. Lot of GTRs in Australia and I am yet to hear of anyone purchasing a set of these, using them and publishing results here. Same goes for the GTIII-4R and GTIII-5R - no one is using them. If these new GT3 HKS units are so good, why isn't anyone down here using them ? Matty George, again Garrett -9 mate. You'll be happy as Duncan said with the 300 - 330kw they'll provide. Also see below. Check this table, has a good reference for the twins. You'll see -9 and HKS old GT-SS is identical.
