RB25DET heater delete - loop or block pipes
GeeDog replied to GeeDog's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thanks guys - I will loop it. -
RB25DET heater delete - loop or block pipes Hi all, the RB25DET is currently out of my R33, but will be going back in tomorrow. I want to delete the heater pipes, but undecided whether to use a small loop of heater hose between the 2 pipes, to block the pipes off, or to loop them with a flow restriction in the loop. The thinking is that the coolant flows through the heater core all the time (once engine is at running temp), so looping them is the best option. Then I think that the heater core provides a restriction on the coolant flow, and looking at the coolant path not having this restriction would affect flow to the oil cooler (heater) and maybe the turbo. Has anyone researched this, or have an opinion either way?

OP - I had my stock RB25DET (from an S2 R33 GTST) oil pump apart this morning, and it looks identical to your photo. The inner rotor has 12 teeth, and is 11mm thick. I'm pretty sure you have bought an RB25DET pump.....

I've had quite a bit of work done by Carl at SA Automotive Engineering at Pooraka, and would recommend him. He's an old school tradesman, does a great job and at a fair price. The last job I had done was clean, deck, bore & hone an RB25DET block, as well as clean & check the head & replace valve stem seals. He also supplied some parts - head bolts, bearings etc. I can't remember the exact cost but it was very reasonable.

You are confusing ignition timing (when the spark plug fires) with cam/valve timing (when the valves open). If google isn't your friend now, it soon will be.

I've emailed a link to some photos.

Brake Pads Users Ratings Guide
GeeDog replied to Snowman's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Sorry for the late reply - as per Duncan's reply they use AP Racing pads. I don't have any part numbers either. Don't need pads just yet but no doubt we will later this year. -

What do you have to fit the 8 pot ATTKD calipers for track only use? -
Tyres are stored elsewhere, I'll get pics when I go there later this week

2 x 245/45R17 & 2 x 275/40R17 $550 - new cost with shipping to Adelaide is $1100. I can get some pics & measure tread depth if you are interested. Can also supply fitted to 17x8 & 17x9 Enkei RP01 rims.

About a second as it turns out We bought them for a bargain from someone clearing out a shed - were a bit worried about the age but after a few laps and a bit of heat they came good.
-
We've run 245 on 8" rims on the front / 275 on 9" rims on the rear in NT01's at Mallala (I assume that's where you'll be using it) on an R33 GTST with pretty good results - best lap time was 1:21 with slower traffic on the track (ie no clear laps - probably good for sub 1:20 with a clear run). We have a bit less power than you - 320rwkw - and a 2 way diff. Last time out we swapped the fronts to 235 & rears to 275 Hankook C91 super soft (old used tyres) and did a best time of high 1:18. I may be interested in selling the NT01's - 245 & 275 in 17's - as they won't fit over our new brakes. Fronts have done 3 events, rears 1 event - pm me if interested.
-
I agree with the NT01's - with 400kw anything less (cheaper) would be very slippery on a track, and you wouldn't be able to use the power.

I used a Turbosmart Kompact, seems to be fine at 18psi & 320RWKW

M6, and about 25mm long if I remember correctly. Want to buy a set - $50 including a free airbox & snorkel:)

Took A 2016 Ford Mustang For A Drive

Did you have a good look at the panel fit & paint - Ford forums say they are shocking and the new one I looked at a few months ago was the same. very poor panel fit & alignment, and panel colours not quite matching. I thought about one for a few minutes before deciding that made in the US probably didn't give the quality I want. -
I have one in Adelaide - don't know where you are....

If you really don't want to lose your licence, see a lawyer. It will cost you a lot more than the fine, but might be worth an appointment to discuss the options. If you go to court and represent yourself the police prosecutor will be all over you. What the cop has written in his book as a transcript of your discussion will be a bit different to what you said - something along the lines of "the driver admitted doing 130kph and stated it was because he is an idiot".
