bring back the gtr ah yes i remember the one that crashed on the hill stopped the race and still won ...... so its not ok to win a championship by been consistant but it;s ok to crash stop a race and win bathurst cause it;s a nissin ok i see

Its called the reg flag rule

the race was red flagged on THAT LAP, the sierra boys had not caught up and passed the gt-r yet dispite it being busted up, from memory they had nearly a laps lead on them..

the rules of the red flag are that when the race is stopped, they go back to the last full lap, so the lap before when the gt-r had all its wheels, was the lap considered the final lap..

the gt-r was still leading then wasn't it

thus they won

yes they won but they still caused the race stopage so how stupid is that rule ? u can crash and still win even if the crash happens b4 the finish line i fully understand the rules after racing myself for many yrs but it still was a stupid rule in the day of course the one eyed gtr fans would never look at it that way tho

MANY races have been won under this rule in simular circumstances

just because a car is on its roof, missing all its wheels and bent beyond recognition, does not mean it has to lose a race it was winning on the lap it was red flagged

its nothing to do with on eyed gt-r fans, its the rules..

The difference is that the GTR was AHEAD of the others.

Advantage should always be given to the person in the lead, as they had to earn that position. To get ahead, you at some stage have to be faster than the person behind you. (excluding lapping, where the person being lapped should concede the position)

There is a WORLD of difference between leading and crashing compared to losing, crashing out the person ahead of you and taking their position.

Being in the lead is like having the ball in team sports. That person earned that position and should be protected.

i dont know which race you've been watching but the GTR did not cause the race to be stopped. There was a crash on conrod straight involving 2 or 3 cars. the GTR had an off somewhere (cant remember where) and was returning to the pits with just 3 wheels. it slid down the start of conrod and couldn't stop or turn and joined the first few cars in there. after that 2 more cars joined in and also became stuck on the side of conrod. The GTR certainly didn't cause it.

If HRT/HSVDT had to employ dirty tactics to beat the faster Ford than so be it. R.kelly knows that he didn't win that championship the genuine way because Lowndes was faster the whole weekend. If it wasn't for the blocking from the Holden drivers then Lowndesy would have been further away from Kelly and this damn thing would never have occured. Although let's not go to the "if it wasn't for that" chapter because even me, an avid Ford man can see that if Lowndes didn't move forward and get hit by Davison then this whole thing wouldn't be big. I'm just really disappionted that it had to finish that way. I love V8 Supercars and if some of you guy don't then fair enough... this is a jap car forum i spose.

LOWNDES FOR '07 CHAMP

Why is everyone cracking it at HRT? From what i saw of race 1 footage it was hard but fair racing. Lowndes was a bit ambitous in trying to get past Skaife where he did...and was being typicla Lowndes in being almost too brave.

HSV Racing yes, but Todd and Mark?

oddly enough the craig lowndes officail site hasnt posted the results or even said a word about the Phillip Island round... I would have thought his fans would want to know whats going on with him and what he thinks about it all because he hasnt said much on the subject

Well except for this: http://www.tripleeight.com.au/news.cfm?newsitem=409.0

    • 12+ months passed so they have no obligation to do a warranty claim. It leaked from the rear circuit. Front circuit was fine, but I tried many times to bench-bleed and in-car bleed (wasted 1L of Penrite racing brake fluid) to no avail. Threw my old BM50 or whatever the standard R32 GT-R BMC is, brakes went back to normal. So from my very limited anecdotal experience, I cannot recommend HFM, even though a lot of their products looks good. Just my experience (I have a genuine Nissan BM57 in a box waiting to be installed now).
    • How dare you sell your unreliable Skyline and buy a reliable, Toyota/Yamaha car with a strong gearbox, torsen LSD and Toyota reliability. At least you won't need to worry about oil pumps, big catch can, oil restrictors, blowing off power steering belts, sheering off 3rd gear, failing ABS relays/pumps, etc.
    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
