Ok this is baffling. How do I pull the left rear inside off to get to the TV tuner?? M35. Plenty of info for the older stags but none for the M35. If I ever successfully do it Imight put together a pdf of the M35 install.

I took four screws off the top panel, easy slip off. But the carpetted panel beneath it won't come off. I can see one black plastic plug, hard to remove without breaking it but the whole thing sems pretty solidly attached and I'm scared to pull too hard for fear of breaking something.

It can be difficult to get the panel off with out removing the floor. It will come out though with a bit of effort. I think you will have to remove the cover for the tools but this one is reasonable easy.

On the carpeted side panel, there is a black plug that needs to be removed by popping the top out (or maybe screw it), it is a bit difficult and you will need remove the panel next to the passenger seat over the rear wheel arch.

Hi Andrew

If you are only doing the TV tuner and not adding any other items at the same time you have all that you need. You didn't mention that you have Chooks TV tuner but I take that as a given.

I would say about 2 hours to do it all.

If you can remove the whole panel in the boot it will make it easier. Make sure you have some thing to secure the 2 TV ariel cables into the new mount. I used shrink cable covers but tape will do it if you are good at wrapping it.

You need to find your power and I can not remember which wire I picked up for that. Craig may remember.

Chooks instructions are very good and very soon you will be enjoying your TV in your heated leather recliner. (perfect for the Vovo driver)

Cheers

Andy

Ahh nice, cheers for that

i've been driving around for the past few days with all the rear trims removed..

i take it i need to remove the stereo/navi unit to plug these things in from chris? is there a rca or something that goes back to the tuner in the back? as i dont have any here.

i also dont have factory bose.. someone pulled it out

OK so after putting all the dash back in place :) hehehe

i am in the rear, got it all apart relay ready to go almost at the stage ready to power up.. but just wondering which wire is the power for the aerials??? just searched the post but couldnt find this info..

i'm taking power from the standard tuner/unit

6 pin plug 5 wires inside. yellow for constant and green for accessories hopefully thats ok?

    • Why are you so adamant on going M12? Why not follow Brad (GTSBoy) suggestion. You're talking moving from a 1/8" size, to a 1/2" effectively. 4 times bigger. Why skip the commonly available sizes in between? The bigger you go, the more likely you are to strip the threads out at a later date, as guaranteed, someone will put a huge spanner on the M12 and really tighten it up, and you're only in thin wall, so not a lot of threads to engage!
    • Hi. Yeah thanks. Car is already at tuners and it staying there to resolve "many" issues they do not like. So it is in a good hands. Getting a good tune on that Nistune ECU too so the car would be good. Just needs a little tune up and love.
    • Probably gonna remove manifold and turbo. I’m not sure if I can get M12 x 1.5 air tight. Could use high temp Loctite 246 or something similar, but I don’t know. Maybe it’s just best to remove everything again and weld an 1/8NPT on there instead.
    • Yeah, saw the ratios, not impressed. Would like the punch I have in the first gears now. With those ratios it won't be the same.  Also want the h pattern gearing, or at least a quiet gear set that don't need to come apart for service each year. Looks like the only "reasonable" way Is a 8hp70 transmission, but where is the fun in that🤷‍♂️
