I took these photos of your "old car" at the 2004 SAU Show 'n Shine...

It looks remarkably similar :)

Although an immaculate example of an everyday R33 GTS-t, I only took one set of bracketed photos of it.

im with you merli.. clean example of a modded 33 gtst.. but i for one have always been under the asumption the skyline GTX was powered by a ca18 in both r32 r33 and r34 models... or was that the GT-Xi... i cant remember either way.

lol, this thread took a turn for the interesting. :D

even if it is genuine (it sure does have a lot of plates to support that), since it's now quite modded, it's now a bit of a bitsa spec which would reduce it's collectibility. I must say I did notice some of the build plates say 95/1 and some say 93/12. :)

Wow, impressive. I remember how much money you put into your old GTS-25T, and it looked identical to the '2500R'.

In fact I remember when you had the Trust turbo and the Greddy plenum fitted.

What are the odds of finding a 'Genuine' 2500R in Japan, let alone one that looked like your previous cars twin?

NOT REALLY THAT IMPRESSIVE AT ALL - ITS NO WONDER YOURE GETTING MUDDLED ABOUT THERE BEING "2 CARS" THAT LOOK SIMILAR BECAUSE THEY ARE BOTH ONE IN THE SAME CAR - NOW I SEE WHERE YOURE COMING FROM - I THOUGHT YOU THOUGHT MY OTHER SKYLINE WAS A KEY FACTOR TO CONSIDER - NOT AT ALL - IT WAS A SERIES 2 PILE OF SHITE !! - THE 2500R "PROTOTYPE" "DEMO CAR" I BOUGHT IS A "TWEAKED" AND "FACELIFTED" GTS-25T - THE ONLY REAL IMPORTANT THING ABOUT THE CAR I HAVE IS THAT IT IS "THE CAR" THAT WAS PULLED OFF THE PRODUCTION LINE AND GIVEN SOME SPECIAL ATTENTION - WHEN I ORIGINALLY GOT IT ALL I KNEW WAS THAT IT WAS THE SECOND OUT OF THREE CARS THAT WERE USED FOR DEVELOPMENT IN THIS WAY - IT CERTAINLY WASNT AS YOU SEE IT TODAY - THERE WERE BITS MISSING AND BITS ON IT THAT HAD TO GO - IT HAD TOO MANY MIX MATCHED THEMES THAT WERENT WORKING HARMONIOUSLY TOGETHER - WHAT WAS WORKING WELL WAS THE FACT THAT GT-R PARTS WOULD EASILY AND READILY BE UTILISED - A GT-R INTAKE PLENUM WAS STILL IN THE BOOT WITH ASSORTED ADAPTER SHIMS AND GASKETS ALONG WITH A HAND WRITTEN LIST IN JAPANESE ON NISMO LETTERHEAD OF OTHER GT-R PARTS EARMARKED FOR INSTALLATION - IT HAD THE RIGHT BLOCK FOR THE CHASSIS (I HAD THAT CHECKED WITH NISSAN IN JAPAN) AND ALL THE CORRESPONDING ID PLATES ALSO MATCHED THOSE NUMBERS WHICH HELPED - NOW THE ODDS OF FINDING A "GENUINE 2500R" IN JAPAN WELL THAT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE AS THEY NEVER WENT INTO PRODUCTION - AS POINTED OUT IN THE HPI ARTICLE THERE IS NO DEFINITIVE MOULD TO PLACE OVER ANY OF THIS OTHER THAN THE CARS WERE BEING USED AS DEVELOPMENT TOOLS WHICH IN ITSELF IS VERY OPEN ENDED - THE CARS WOULD HAVE ALL GONE THROUGH MANY MANY DIFFERENT CONFIGURATIONS DURING THEIR 2 YEAR TOUR OF DUTY - HOW DIFFERENT IS THE NEW GTR IN RELATION TO THE PROTOTYPE THAT WAS BEING SHOWN 5 YEARS AGO - WITH ALL THE INFORMATION I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SOURCE OVER THE PAST 7 YEARS I KNOW THAT WHAT HAS "EMERGED" IN MY CAR IS A SOLID REPRESENTATION OF THE DIRECTION THAT WAS BEING FOLLOWED IN JAPAN HAD THE 2500R BEEN REALISED AS A STABLE MATE OF THE 400R AND BEEN "AWARDED" MASS PRODUCTION HOMOLOGATION - IT WASNT TO BE WHICH IN MY MIND IS OF NO CONSEQUENCE AS NOT EVERY IDEA EVER THOUGHT OF GETS SEEN THROUGH TO THE END - THE PLENUM AND TURBOCHARGER ARE JUST 2 ADDITIONS FROM A VERY LONG LIST OF DOZENS AND DOZENS THAT HAVE BEEN THOUGHTFULLY APPLIED OVER THE YEARS - ALTHOUGH SAYING THAT A LOT OF THE DECISION MAKING PROCESS DICTATES ITSELF ESPECIALLY WHEN FROM THE OUTSET THE INTEGRITY OF A "FACTORY SPEC. i always wondered why nismo and or Trust would allow a GReddy part to be on one of their proto-types with a Nismo badge on it.

one question...is the car at the S n S and the car in HPI the same car?

Nismo does not fit Trust turbos to their vehicles, but thats just the start.
