how come it's got such a good spread of power??

what's been done to this, i havent seen a power curve like that for a turbo motor before?

What's been done? Alot! It even has a standard airbox! :nyaanyaa:

Note that crappy brown line is GT RS's. The red line is -5's. Boost controller is still off with the -5's. It seems with the modified actuators the controller on it doesn't like it. It would have been nice to hold 25 PSI the whole way but meh, its all good. It wont be the last time its on a dyno. I haven't driven it much, although as Steveo said, 265 Semi's and it turns them just rolling on the trottle in second. Turning tyres DOWN a hill is interesting also! I had a choice of backing the intake cam off for the 450 ish run but I was after area under the curve. What is interesting is taking off from lights without being an idiot. You don't realise how easy you pick up speed!

Really? How? it has a 3.5-4k spread of useable power, lots of motors have this? Albeit often not as nice as this it has certainly been done before.

It's easy to get that spread with much less power, not as easy with 400+ kw. Remember this is the 400kw plus thread, we do things differently in here. A huge spread of power in the 300kw thread is a piece of piss

Exactly. Confused as to how you'd not realise how awesome of an achievement it is.

Comparing to a RB25/300rwkw setup, pointless.

Great numbersthumbsup.gif

I take it your not using pump E85 ...are you using a zeitronix to display the E content ?

Yeah mate, straight out of the pump nozzle. Yes I am using the Zeitronix display. I actually got E77 from Rozelle a few weeks ago and have seen E89 or E90 from the same pump a few mponths before. Shows how much it varies.

Nice result!

Ethanol changes the game a lot :)

Must be very shitty or very cold r-comps if they are spinning in 2nd

Well i went for a 15 km drive before that and I was about 5 km into the drive where it did it. I dunno. Either way, laying fat lines is cool :D

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
