So, more shit ordered for Brad to keep going on this for me...

Starter motor should arrive by Friday at my place for it.

Also need to give a big thanks to Chris from Craved Coatings, many moons ago I sent him a heap of crap and went "Do stuff with it yeah?", I did tell him that I had no rush for it, as it was going to be a long project, and I emphasised this (When you actaully want stuff quickly he turns it around quickly!) but I got my gear back, and it looks SUPERB!

I'll get some photos up of his stuff soon.

I've had Chris do a few bits and pieces now, and his work is ALWAYS superb, at good prices! Seriously, send him your shiznit for powder coating!

So... I told you all Craved returned some parts to me... He did an excellent job...

I've also got the new ECU in... Just waiting on the loom so it can be wired up.

I've also been playing with the headlights and trying to clean them up... Might have to send them away to be profesionally done though... Yay... More money... LOL

I also bought the starter motor that was required so Brad can start modding the steering rack...

I think he's lost his camera too :P

We did find out though, that custom extractors are the ONLY way to go... Yay... More money... LOL

From what Brad has told me, and others have seen as well, the Ls1 and T56 are in and mounted. Last I heard te mounts haven't been 100% welded as Brad was waiting on the starter motor to make sure he only had to mod the rack and not move the motor further.

Wirin loom should turn up to him in 2 weeks time and just need plugs put on it.

Once it's mounted I understand we'll then be waiting on the front half of the tail shaft to be made. We spoke and decided on a 2piece shaft.

So, I gave myself a birthday present of a day off work, and decided to head up to take some snaps so Brad didn't need to worry with photos.

Holden thought of the R33 when they made this sump... It fits perfectly...

Supposedly a cat lives here...

I'm going to need to change this

This will cause issues...

See... They do fit...

Just...

Although, it does sit nice and low...

At least I can get to the gearbox bolts easily...

Because of how well the sump fitted the cross member, it's staying where it is, as you can see, it could be shoved back a bit, but that sump is such a good fit!

The shifter works out in nearly the standard location, slightly rearward, but because of the height of the box, the trans tunnel will need a slight mod around the shifter hole to allow the box to sit up all the way.

The back of the box still needs to go between 1 to 2 inches higher when it gets bolted up properly, so the motor will tilt slightly further forward. Even more clearance... :D

As to the rack, it actually needs to be moved to the drivers side a fair bit to make it fit. It's majorly in the way... A bit more obvious in person.

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
