pretty sure it wasn't 20k in 1995...

the independants who want to block the flood levy should be forced to move to queensland and live in some of the houses that have been mashed with water to the ceiling

just agree to the levy

put it in place

get on with it

and let the poor people fix shit

less time debating crap for no purpose

more time fixing shit thats busted

fk that totally against flood levy. Not to mention i'd like my donation back if im gonna pay $6 per week for the cause. I also doubt they will remove it in 12 months its a labor government after all, and god sick of the "middle income earners" saying they get hit hardest not sure how $1 a week is hit hardest when high income earners have to pay 5 times that amount ?

oh and what about Victoria?

Well ur thinking about people your age alex. Ur not thinking of middle income earners who have families to provide for etc. End of the day we all have the same bills to pay but high income earners actually have money left after paying rent n bills and supplies etc. The way I figure it they're getting charged more because they can afford to part with more...or that's the logic involved. Truth is there are a lot of middle income earners already struggling to make ends meet. So no, I don't think it's fair to take from the poor and give to the recently poor. Should they be given money for relief? Sure. But not by forcing it out of my pocket. That's what that charity is for. It's already raised more than gillard could.

Also. Agreed. What about Victoria? :)

if it actually had 317kw it might move instead of just make a lot of noise like all holen v8's (modified cars excluded)

are you saying VE's dont make the same power output as the "307" or "317" badge on the boot. cause they put dads VE1 Clubsport on the dyno soon after purchase and made 264kw contrary to the brochured 307. i thought they might mean 307 at the flywheel but do you really lose 50 odd kilowatts from the flywheel to the wheels?

prefer the 68 over the 69 actually

well its 317kw at the engine, they weigh what 1800kg

the only few ive seen move have been a couple of twin turbo ones around

holden's power figures are derived on an engine dyno with a completly stripped engine, so no aircon, power steering, or any other components at all

they dont even make 317 at the engine when they are assembled

and yes, they will always lose around that much flywheel to rear wheel

yeh havent had anyone to rage at lately.

i almost sent an abusive email to melb city lexus today cos they reminded me my car was overdue for service, which its not i had it done at brighton instead since they were so fkn rude to me on the phone

but i didnt.

LOL!

fords are fkn shit they dont have a single decent car in the entire line up.

holden > ford.

hsv > ford (no comparison)

ve maloo looks tough as nuts.

F6? Supercharged 5.0 GS/GT? Come on brah, few mods and these things would tear shit up (talking straight line only obviously)

Disclaimer: I doubt i'd ever buy a holden or ford lol

    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
    • BTW I measured the jack I have, it is 70mm at the saddle but you only have about 700 until it returns to 150mm high at the cylinder so it is good but no magic bullet.
