flashy brakes bro

Yep they do look flashy,,,but you know me by now,,,they have to fit perfectly. Remember I'm anal so the caliper has to sit perfectly in the middle of the disc. I machined up some spacers tonight but I don't think I got them right. Someone has built the dog-bones beautifully so it's just a matter of me making the whole package work to my liking,,,I don't want un-even pad wear or pad knock off big fella. Time and work will tell if I actually use them.

Cheers

Neil.

I've been stuffing around with my cold air box and thought what the hell am i going to do with this hole which used to be a factory intercooler inlet,,,

So after a bit of thinking and a little trip to Bunning I thought why not buy these bits, They cost all of about $15 bucks.

It's far from finished,,,as I think I should put some mesh over it,,,just to stop the gerbils from getting in but this took stuff all time,,,not like trying to re-fit my R33 GTR snorkel to the top of the box,,,that's still a work in progress.

I finally finished my cold air box,,,it all went great until trying to make my R33 gtr snorkel fit properly,,,lots of heating and bending took place and it's still not a 100% but I can live with it for the moment. The reason I made my own and didn't buy one is they are all made for street cars that still use the carbon canister which has a big cutaway at the front. Mines made of 3mm fibreglass sheet and covered in stinger roadkill sound and heat deadening insulation. The deadening was supplied by my good friends at Metrosound in Artarmon http://www.metrosound.com.au/ and I recommend them for anybody looking at stereo upgrades. If you look closely you will notice all the allen bolts are blue anondised aluminum and as usual my fetish for carbonfibre has extended to making washers as well. No sense waisting off-cuts. My next box will be made totally from carbonfibre but the funds are not going there at the moment. I really need bigger injectors and a turbo upgrade. Anyway here's some pics of my latest creation:-

Forgot to ask the other day

What pads are you running in the front?

I'm using Hawk DTC-60 HB178G.564's tiger,,, great pads and good pricing from Mathew at

http://www.racebrakessydney.com.au/

tell him I sent you.

I also use DBA discs exclusively,,,not that RDA rubbish.

Cheers

Neil.

Thanks mate.

also want videos of the hill climb this weekend.

Wander on over to youtube you lazy bum and search radicalracer41,,,oh here I'll make it easy for ya

Cheers

Neil.

I used the DC60's from Matt at RBS great stuff BTW.

I used RDA and never had a drama, no cracking or warping very happy with them

Okay my bad,,,I should have clarified my dis-like for RDA. I actually don't like the way they run their business and until it changes I will never buy their product.

Love

Neil.

So now that I have my flashy 244 killowasps,,,this has bought me a new set of issues,,,

1/ My standard injectors are at a 100% so I need an upgrade,,,so I bought these 2nd hand ones off another SAU guy

555 Nismo's and tomorrow they are off to Unigroup for testing.

Issue 2 is my turbo,,,now I'm not going to move away from my high-flowed one but it's not right as boost is coming on at 6000 rpm and obviously that is not right. I and now Duncan have been driving around it but I now have the shits with it and it's time for fixing,,,again Unigroup will have the job of fixing it.

I'm not really after anymore power,,,just better drive-ability,,,but 300 will be on the cards for sure.

Cheers

Neil.

yeah mate I reckon she'll be even more fun with that huge hole fixed in the power band.....it comes on boost like a 400kw car :(

and call on the injectors...I saw 100% on the PFC which is never good

love how it drives though, it is super predictable so you make the most of it.

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
