i used a product called Glassylite to restore my headlights.

i used to use Meguiars PlastiX but found that they would just yellow up after a couple of weeks.

with the Glassylite, you are basically cutting back the polycarbonate lens, polishing it with lighter grade compounds as you go, and the final step is a nano-sealant which seals the plastic again. 6 months on and no yellowing, they look brand new. best 40 bucks i've spent on the car.

ive heard about glassylite, if your saying its the goods i might give it a shot

Scott's hi flowed turbo and injectors are now on my car...he probably cursed my name all through the 3 days he was working on it LOL.

Emanage installed by Cihan last nite, trans cooler installed by Aaron last night in the rain...thanks guys!

Got my shift kit installed today at RVO Auto. Rob's done a good job. As per everyone (Scott, Cihan, Aaron)'s advice, I asked him to make it "as firm as possible".

He said he'll do it after checking out the state of the tranny.

Opened the sump, no metal shaving, trans fluids look almost new. So he made it firrrrrrrm

Haven't been able to enjoy the car too much in its untuned state...hmmm

Also dropped the oil and put in Motul 8100 Xcess. Was too tight to pay for 300v Chrono

I head to Sydney on the 6am Qantas flight in the morning to pick up the car! Apparently its a train to a ferry, then Ben from Northshore will grab me from the ferry.

First bit turned up today, a Nismo Veruspeed oil filter. Just waiting on the Blitz air filter and Denso plugs, and I'm ready for the service. My local Repco stocks the whole Motul range, so I'll pick up some 300v and the Motul RBF600 brake fluid Iain recommended. No Nulon trade dealers in SA according to the Nulon rep who called me Monday, so my only option is to get Repco to order it in (was about $120-130/20L trade) or go to Sprint Auto Parts, which was what Nulon recommended.

Looking forward to the drive. Didn't take the day off work, worked the hours Monday and Tuesday instead. So while I'm a bit tired, I don't really have anything to stress about and can just enjoy the 1,400 km drive! Have packed my 7D, tripod and remote for some happy snaps along the way :D

the y piece is actuall 3 inch inlet into twin 2.5inch outlet so the pipes will need some adjustment to fit

Hey Ironpaw, that's a long list of work you've had done to you car over the last few days. I love it how everyone chips in to help. I feel all lonely up here with the only M35 in the area.

Anyway, it sounds like you're progressing well, and fast. Look forward to the reading about the rest of the mods.

in other news, i grabbed some of the GW syn-x 3000 this arvo, $32 for a semi syn - will see how it goes tmrw

also grabbed a meguires clay bar kit thing, should have super shiny paint soon :D

Ha ha, yeah the gaurd rail won. I actually felt really good at the time, straightened my back and neck out. Anyway time to get rid of it though i have to drive the gtr to work now til i get another daily.

Kinda ironic cause i had new wheels and tyres (volk ce28n in other post) that ive been holding of fitting cause i didnt wan2 scratch them, if i didnt have bald tyres on at the time it would of never happened.

Oh well shit happens.

    • Hi guys, just after some guidance with an R34 sunroof that has stopped working correctly. It still opens and closes perfectly fine, but it no longer tilts/vents up or down. As a result, the rear of the glass now sags a bit as it drops down slightly in order to retract into the roof, but now it can't pop upwards into a flush position. I’ve probed the pins on the back of the switch connector with a multimeter and it seems like both switches (for open/close and tilt/vent) still work correctly. Any ideas on what it could be, or where I should even start in terms of diagnosing? I'm sure someone's had this issue before but I haven't been able to find anything online relating to this specific issue, most of the issues are with the seals leaking or the motor failing entirely. Thanks in advance!
    • Do you have some data like fuel pressure? It's really hard to say if you're still fighting a fuel system issue at this point. Could be something weird like the FPCM dipping out.
    • Yeah in that case, pulling the dent out. Event a very slight dent can create a lot of work filler-wise and there is a strong chance the panel won't be the factory shape when you are done (as the dent will result in a new high point created somewhere, then everything is brought up to that new high point... but the panel shouldn't be that high if that makes sense).  So you've filled and primed the panel and it is flat, why would you go back and remove the primer and add more filler?
    • Something else I have been faffing with while the car was off the road is making the AC work. Assuming the car isn't at a thermal limit the idea of having AC while waiting in line to go on track sounds delightful. I have actually been lugging around the weight of the entire system since 2018 when the RB25NEO went in without it working at all.  The main reason was in the first few events before I got around to re-gassing it the rubber hose that runs under the manifold had the factory heat wrap/sleeve fail resulting in this: ~2 years ago I purchased a complete used R32 AC line set but when I finally went to install it the line i needed was different where the expansion section is I found a local place that was able to replace the rubber section and re-crimp. They also added some modern heat sleeve to the hose Tight fit but fingers crossed this is the last physical piece of the puzzle needed
    • the top black section is bonded to the silver section with some form of rubber. I assume to isolated NVH from the box
