Thanks gents.. the manifold really is a very nice thing to look at.

Mr Baron - yes full race manifold. Geoff talked me into an 88-75 with 1.00ar rear, it will be replaced by an efr down the track once they're 'sorted' and available (there was a lot of negativity around the time I ordered so I thought I'd bide my time!).

Great stuff... interested in seeing the results.

cool. the 88-75 should be pretty good. it's still a 2.6 yeah?

It will be going on an rb30 bottom end. I spent a bit of time talking it over with Geoff and he convinced me the 83-75 is perfect on an rb26 but too small on a 30. We will see I guess!

Have you by any chance test fitted the manifold on the engine in the bay? How would it go for room running the ext gates with how the inlet pipes are sitting now?

I've only trial fitted the manifold using a gt35 on the old rb26 (pics at the bottom of the first page) - the manifold fouled on the steel hr engine mounts but the extra deck height on the rb30 should clear that up. The front gate sits pretty close to the strut tower and the gate plumbing is going to be interesting. The inlet and ic pipes shouldn't be an issue though.

Hey Corey - a good mate lent me his spare 26/30 to trial fit various bit's and pieces so I can answer you now. The manifold places the turbo higher than the motor, I have only a few mm clearance between the bonnet and comp cover (less than I have btw the motor and bonnet). The front waste gate sits pretty close to the strut tower as well. As mentioned before the gate plumbing will be fun.

Few more pictures/updates given there isn't much real progress :P

Was disappointed to find the ati balancer fouls on the radiator when the pump drive is fitted so it's for sale and will be replaced by a custom (shorter) balancer. Hopefully the Ross alternative is as good as the ati...

Still waiting on the new head from Brad, it's coming together with a big single pump which should be a lower risk option than running a couple 044's in parallel.

Sound deadening is all gone, rebuilt and powder coated the pedal assembies & now in the middle of putting it back together. Turns out hr's come with n1 spec brake booster so it's off for a rebuild.

Dummied up the rail and 1600cc injectors on the old motor to check fitment.

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
