I'm getting ~350 - 400km per tank from 98, so I suspect my 98 tune is a little rich too (and I like teh throttle).

E85 + 20psi will be the first thing I get sorted once back from Europe in July. If I'm on 295kw @ 16psi on 98, the retune will rock my world.

How many Kms to a tank are ppl getting roughly with eflex/e85 ?

Spoke to my mate yesterday with an evo, his getting 200kms per tank @ 260awkw with eFlex...that's horrible

The best I have got was 360 just before the light came on. That's on the highway with the occasional spurt. However I I tried hard enough I reckon I could empty te tank in no more than 120km. That's on a 400 rwkw GTR though.

I have always used the E85 from United Rozelle.

And in actual fact its E90. I test every batch i get and has always been consistent.

I have also tested our local Caltex and they had E77.

Caltex also charge more for their E85.

For me E85 is well worth it :)

i live down the road from there, how much you payng for e85??

It does vary.

The cheapest I have bought some from Rozelle for was 99.7 C per litre, that was 12 months ago. It normally hovers around $1.20 (Give or take)

As so much of the fuel system has to be replaced/upgraded, I still advocate the enlarged fuel tank 100L plus.

Hardly... most cars dont need anything to convert. Single pump with correct injectors and factory lines and hoses 400+rwkw no problems...

I don't know about other areas in sydney but near me (balmain) there are 1 united and 2 caltex's within 1km or so of me. there will be more to come too.

Hi guys,

I was thinking about upgrading my injectors to ID2000's & switching to e85 but have since changed my mind after talking to the tuner who was responsible for the gtr which i now own.

He thinks that e85 is still not stable & even did a test on e85 recently from a Caltex servo which only had 71 ethanol (name disclosed)...imagine what this would do if your car was highly tuned for 85 ethanol?!?!

He also said that when buying this fuel, you should only buy from new servo's which have poly tanks as the older concrete tanks are reacting to e85.

Anyway, i thought i'd share this with anyone else who is sitting on the fence as i have been for quite some time, now my mind is clear 

When e85 becomes more readily available in another 1-2yrs time, i 'might' then make the change...then again, do i really need more than 400awkw?

regards,

marko

OK

this may be silly question, but ive read numerous pages on this new United E85 or caltex Eflex... I run a stock rb25det and was wondering can I run this Eflex or E85 thru my car.... none of these posts gave a definite answer? I just want to see if it will make any difference to driving and response over the standard BP98? hope someone can clarify?

regards

No you can't run it without a retune.

HEY guys, i put about 30 litres of 100 premium at UNITED, it seems that the car runs better, faster, more responsive, BUT it uses petrol in half the time, ive got about 150km out of HALF a tank... so 30 litres for 150km, thats insanely high....

I enjoy the extra poke, but its still high usage..... I will use this 100 premium for the next tank, then I will change fuel pump and fuel filter, got my eyes on WALBRO pump and stock filter :)

BECAUSE my car has a cold start issue, first time start for the day and it sits on like 500rpm for 4secs then DIES, then turn it over again and it sits on 1200 rpm for a min then kicks up to 1500rpm after 20secs.... i hope its just fuel pump!!!!!!!!!!

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
