M35 does have a factory Bov. Similar or same as gtr Bosch units.

Hay, where is it, I couldn't find it on my car. Got a picture?

My engine bay is one page back.

thanks.gif

I assumed he was asking about a nm35 when he said v35 , since no v35's are factory turbo.

"Yes but what are you saying? "

I was simply pointing out he could use a GTR bov as a cheap option if he didnt have one.

Oh..........thats cleared it up! The problem is pluming it in somewhere.

Between the intercooler and AFM and plumbed back to the bend just after the mushroom.

Pipe goes right underneath so pretty easy.

yup....so why haven't you done it on the V35 yet? :P So are you saying to cut into the HKS cast alloy pipe?....I'm not sure Alex will want to do that and any further up the pipe might affect the AFM signal!

He likes the flutter.

I'm a bit at a loss as to where to put a BOV. We all know that if you vent to atmos, it makes you a phag, as well as messes up the AFM readings, BUT, thats with the AFM just after the air filter. With an AFM all the way near the TB, I don't know what effect positioning will have? I have to qualms about drillin the pipe - if it stops compressor surge! ATM its not effecting me much, cause I'm not putting the boot in!

Might wait a couple of weeks, and have a look at the HKS 350z that should be coming on a cruise. I think he has a BOV.

I'd put the BOV on the underside of the pressure side pipe; just in front of the throttle body. This keeps everything out of sight.

You could then pick up the turbo intake pipe directly below; weld a nipple in at a 30 deg angle, providing a nice merge into the intake pipe. Better yet; weld your nipple into the intake pipe so you get straight shot at the compressor wheel.

Its a great idea Dale, but there is stuff all room there. I'm running about 4 or 5 hoses in the area already.

What I really need to know is does it matter being before or after the AFM?

Just sorted out the front bar, that fits on nicely now, and also fixed up a little wastegate issue. Tomorrow I'm going to chuck it back up on the hoist and check for leaks. Also hope to mount up my trans cooler, fit some long lost swaybar bushes, and make sure everything is tight, and also take some pics

Question to you guys - What do you want to see photos of? Is there anything in particular, or I'll just take some general snaps of the whole thing?

Fair enough; sometimes hard to gauge space in pics. Hadn't thought about the AFM position; but you won't be feeding it unmetered air so it should be fine.

Good to hear it's all working well; must be encouraging. You STILL haven't fitted those swaybar bushes? Me either; lol...

Pics; LOTS of pics.

Bushes went missing for about 10 months or so... the Mrs "filed" them. I came across them in the Garage about a fortnight ago! Couldn't believe my luck rolleyes.gif

Copy that on the pics....

    • haha don't worry I'm sue you've got more fun ahead buying a 30 year old turbo car....but at least you are in the right place to ask
    • some days eh? The keyless entry and interior light on/off with the key will be controlled by the Body Control Module, but I'm not certain where that is or what it looks like (you might get lucky with a search to get a part#, which could be printed on it). I'd start at the A pillar/ Under dash/kick panel on the driver's side
    • It might be hit and miss, but Nissan Genuine Parts and Pitworks are not the same thing, although both are available from Nissan Dealers with Nissan Part Numbers. Nissan Genuine Parts are the OEM stuff, Pitworks are their attempt to get people back from generic parts makers
    • I did end up getting it sorted, as GTSBoy said, there was a corroded connection and wire that needed to be replaced. I ended up taking out the light assembly, giving everything a good clean and re-soldered the old joints, and it came out good.
    • Wow, thanks for your help guys 🙏. I really appreciate it. Thanks @Rezz, if i fail finding any new or used, full or partial set of original Stage carpets i will come back to you for sure 😉 Explenation is right there, i just missed it 🤦‍♂️. Thanks for pointing out. @soviet_merlin in the meantime, I received a reply from nengun, and i quote: "Thanks for your message and interest in Nengun. KG4900 is for the full set of floor mats, while KG4911 is only the Driver's Floor Mat. FR, RH means Front Right Hand Side. All the Full Set options are now discontinued. However, the Driver's Floor Mat options are still available according to the latest information available to us. We do not know what the differences would be, but if you only want the one mat, we can certainly see what we can find out for you". Interesting. It seems they still have some "new old stock" that Duncan mentioned 🤔. I wonder if they can provide any photos......And i also just realized that amayama have G4900 sets. I'm tempted too.
