Telstra called me about 2 months back trying to get me to recontract... I'm 6 months out of contract with a $49 business cap that is working completely fine for me... BUT it's only got 1gb of data... Doesn't really bother me because it's bugged and excess data usage gets absorbed into the $550 of included value :P

The guy on the phone was about 70yo... and he kept saying how he used to work in finance... like 5 times. Good for you buddy, you're working in a call center now though, arent you?

I said to recontract they'd need to increase my data to a usable amount, at no additional cost to me.

He said it wasn't possible and that the best option for me was to buy an ADDITIONAL iPad Contract which came with XXX data/month for only $60... I kept asking if I'd be able to use the data from the ipad contract on my current phone and he kept avoiding the question. So I kept asking if I would be paying more on my phone plan each month than I am now... his response was:

"Your phone plan will stay at $49/month..."

"and how much do I have to pay for 4gb of data on the iPad?"

"Only $60..."

"On top of the cost of my phone plan?"

"Yes."

"So my request was the best option to get a bit more data than 1gb on my phone without paying anything more per month, and your response is that I should pay $109/month for additional data which I cannot use through my phone at all?"

"Yes."

"You should look into a different line of work... Finance clearly didnt work for you, and neither is this..."

*hangup*

Call center staff will say anything for a sale, but this guy was just retarded...

Was also trying to tell me that the Kogan Prepaid Mobile with 12gb of data/month for $199/year wasn't resold through the telstra network... *sigh*

Edit: Oh, that was a lot longer than I planned it to be... on the plus side, it's now past 5pm... HOME TIME BITCHES!

need chemical engineering job.

need electrical engineers.

We should start our own engineering firm. SAU Engineering. lol

oh. why you learning SQL for that?

I just need to run SQL, the server.

All the software developers and programmers at my work are like silent, don't even know they exist fark working in their room

Fuck that. We're the loudest bunch. Plus we have all the candy and Lego. Also... your office has rooms? dafuq?

f**k that. We're the loudest bunch. Plus we have all the candy and Lego. Also... your office has rooms? dafuq?

Well they have their own little area / room bit together yeh lol

They do have lolipops and jelly beans but thats about it

you'd be surprised at how little some engineers get paid. you'll also get annoyed at how many businesses write "Engineering" on the side of their vehicles and on business cards who "engineer" stuff, but arent "engineers". like the way you could say McDonalds "engineer" the way their burgers fit into those little boxes (good old days of cardboard rings and manual wrapping, so you knew if the burgers were getting smaller, as oppose to not knowing cause the box makes that difficult). you'll also feel sick when you see people with number plates "NGNEER".

in saying that, you dont need a degree to be an engineer. and i kinda roll my eyes when i meet graduate electrical engineers who have been employed and do rotation for 2-3 years and not actually do anything or contribute to the business.

Meh, simple fix, just refer to yourself as a professional engineer. Anyways engineering is nothing special. You end up becoming a specialist in your field which limits your chances of managing/running a business as you lack the accounting/finance/relationship management skills.

Not saying its impossible, comes down to your personality and street smarts to climb out.

Doctors/lawyers specialise in their field but get paid a packet because they deal directly with individuals.

should make a SAU garage cafe harlem shake.

Leigh you can put on your helment in an empty GC in your bintang singlet haha

haha I'm game, you organise it with the staff there for next meet :P

    • I refreshed the OEM injectors with the kit and connected it up. It now ideals okay even with the IACV removed. Driving still has the same cutoff issue like the 550cc injectors so the issue is somewhere else. I bought FPG's Fuel Pump Hanger. I will be installing it next, but it is not as straightforward as I thought it was with my limited wiring knowledge and no instruction on the specific model I purchased (FPG-089). I also got the incorrect billet clamp as I could not find info on the OEM sizing.
    • Stop looking at the garage floor, and turn the radio up a bit louder if there's any strange noises...
    • No. Turbo shuffle and surge/flutter are not the same thing. Specifically, on a GTR, turbo shuffle has a definite meaning. On a GTR, the twin turbos are assumed to be the same thing and to operate the same way, exactly. In reality, they do not. Their exhaust sides are fed and exhaust a little differently, to each other. Their inlet sides are fed and exhausted a little differently, to each other. Consequently, when they are "working" they are often at slightly different points on the compressor map compared to each other. What this means, particularly when coming on boost, is that one of them will spool up and start producing extra flow compared to the other, which will put back pressure on that other compressor, which will push the operating point on that other compressor up (vertically). This will generally result in it bumping up against the surge line on the map, but even if it doesn't, it upsets the compressor and you get this surging shuffle back and forth between them That is "turbo shuffle" on a GTR. It is related to other flutter effects heard on other turbo systems, but it is a particular feature of the somewhat crappy outlet piping arrangement on RB26s. There are plenty of mods that have been attempted with varying levels of success. People have ground out and/or welded more material into the twin turbo pipe to try to prevent it. Extending the divider inside it works, removing material doesn't. There are aftermarket replacement twin turbo pipes available, and these exist pretty mush purely because of this shuffle problem.
    • You can temporarily* use lock collars to keep it in place until you can do the bushes, back the nuts off, slide them in, snug back up. *temporarily is often for ever
    • Thanks for the quick reply. To be clear, when you say turbo shuffle do you mean turbo flutter "stustustu" or referring to something else? I had thought they were the same thing. When I wrote the post my intention was to say it wasn't a flutter/compression surge sound. My understanding was that a flutter sound would be occurring when throttle is released, whereas I can keep the throttle in the same position for this noise
