Also, got a tune last night....

My tune history has been as follows...

260rwkw
250rwkw
244rwkw
223rwkw

Timing up high is like 8 degrees :P Power FC is pulling out all the timing because the turbo is making super heated air... We think I've got a leaking Intake manifold gasket (the middle one) so the turbo is working so much harder than it needs to to make 18psi...

Then I'm hoping to return to that responsive 260/270rwkw goodness

Twice in one week... Both while I was parked and not even near the car.

Great.... Just... Great....

Edit: Aaron, your people need to learn how to drive...

LOL you're copping it bad man.

Curries? What they say? Hahah

She tried to blame it on me for parking where the Body Corporate doesn't like people to park... and then started screaming at me about Karma because I didn't apologise and accept blame for her reversing into me.

I don't actually think your genetics make you a bad driver... but well, you did spin your car right in front of me on turn two at Sandown... ifyouknowwhatimean...

Lmfao are you somehow trying to say that Aaron spun his AWD Evo 180 degrees going around turn two at Sandown raceway on a warm-up lap???

Too low, suspension travel, and h-pattern on gear knob

No fine or roady, and a month to clear. He was mirin my neat engine bay, I think that may have had something to do with it

State HWP it says, got done on Beaconsfield Pde

Pics of said tidy engine bay plz.

Anyone have exhaust manifold studs for rb20/rb25

Have a new set and a used set, need the new ones though.

Edit: Actually used ones are incomplete and a couple were snapped.

cousin calls me around dinner saying his car broke down at mt disappointment.
drive there, he starts it, WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEMMMM white smoke
pull off the elbow bolted to the inlet.
met with this.
worst. turbo. failure. ever.

were worried it might have grenaded itself...

got it towed to a mechanic.

asked him to check every little bit of the engine

If the motor survives this, I'd be really amazed by it.

The amount of stories about ZD30 grenading is HUGE!

That's a disappointing end to his day

YEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH

Scott and his deflating my tyres to 27psi warm.

Squirming tyres felt like water haha even Richo drove it and thought something was f**ked. And yep, 27psi did that

Since we are talking genetics.. I'm surprised you haven't been in more crashes...

What with not being able to see over the steering wheel..

:P

YEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH

lmao we were ripping dissa jokes on the cb when he was in the tow truck.

all quiet from his end, and then all you hear is, SHUT THE f**k UP

Yeah i do lol

Yeah we used all your studs. Was still one short. Had to use a bolt :/

Fitted the apexi intercooler. So epic. No reo cutting, no front bar cutting. Mounting Brackets lined up with factory holes. Pipes slid into position with no f**king around.

Shame they stopped making intercooler kits.

However in the process had to lose my factory options. No more auto spoiler and lost a fog light :(

    • oh they were with that motor, you need to remove the engine to change the spark plugs (don't have to, but it does make it easier)
    • I certainly fall into the annoyed camp, but glad to hear that if it's happening at low boost then I'm not likely going to blow a turbo and end up with metal shards in my oil. Just feels like it prevents me from really driving it without hesitation and "peak" performance. Wonder if it's the VCAM, it did an impressive job of shifting the torque curve and faster spool, but maybe now it's "too fast" and there's too much air for how open the throttle is.  Based on some other threads, will also do some reading on synchronizing the actuators. They are the default actuators that come on the Garrett's and I would think they would be set the same coming from the factory, but if the turbos don't actually work exactly the same way at the same time as previously mentioned, it would be worth making sure the actuators are actuating together properly
    • I went down this rabbit hole before, ended up sourcing a motor from the UK (I'm in Japan) which also didn't function correctly. With the original motor, I disassembled it and reassembled it and it works somewhat, sometimes. What I could deduce from all my screwing around is that there is calibration of the gears on the inside of the motor and two ramps on the main gear which activate switches that operate the motor and move the sunroof either to retract into the roof or tilt. Where I got stuck was that, it seemed in my case that one or both of the switches that are activated by the ramp on the gear did not always activate and thus the motor did not move, causing it to sometimes not retract or tilt (apologies, I've forgotten which way it didn't work.).  Of course this part is discontinued at Nissan now, it's the same part in the S15 but no other models. I also contacted the manufacturer of the component for schematics - forgot the name, they're based in Gifu - but they declined to share the information due to being bound by an NDA, sadly. Looking through my pictures now, it seems I last had a crack at this in 2022. See, I so kindly wrote "open" and "close" next to the switches. If you figure it out, please do tell me. Those little switches, with the red buttons may need to be replaced.
    • It says 300ZX, does that make it an Aus delivered car? Funny how back in the day I just couldn't care less about Z32's and these days I am just in love with them. Back when Nissan was into pushing the envelope. 🤣
