Yeah well being a mechanic I thought servicing would be easy, just parts I hear are expensive.

fair nuff. you've obviously chosen it because you like the look of em, so would be hard to swing you towards a different hatch. possibly of Japanese design/parts and good ol' Australian construction. I know some people with a few for sale. a white one stands out in particular. it's only $4500 drive away :P

Watanabe san's 930 only make 360rwhp from a n/a 3.8 6cyl... But bear in mind it also weighs just under a ton....

+ I'd say it's a totally different characteristic of a car.

Both good in their own ways.

Anybody know anything about the 4th Gen Golfs? I'm thinking about getting one as a daily.

I wasn't saying 360rwhp isn't enough.... I was stating that the car is light as a feather and as such 360rwhp is pretty fkn quick.

equivalent of about 275rwkw per tonne... which is a FAST.... would bang /10

busy busy man working, wedding planning blah never ends man!

wait till you have a kid lol....

Had an STI owner compliment my car at the lights...I thought that was nice given no one seems to give a shit about R33 GTS-Ts anymore! He had 340hp at the wheels, fair mumbo for a Rex.

Yeah true that!

Aww that's nice. Your car is beautiful :)

~250kw, not too bad, needs more though.

i remember having a quick google, and on the subie forums i just kept seeing "any more you need to rebuild engine first" etc comments...

unlike le evo :P

    • Oh, also, forgot to add these photos I believe.
    • Thought i'd update on this. I was able to get in contact with Craig Lieberman and later on Darryl Alison (owner of Kaizo Industries). Darryl was able to help me verify that my car was in fact one of theirs and is helping me find more info on mine !
    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
