If you ran that trap speed with no cage in a jap car there is NO chance they would let you run again

nah it's just heathcote don't care, calder will tell you to slow down then boot you off at anything over like 130 or 140 i think

Hey Martin; you do a lot of traveling...

Thinking of buying a new laptop to use when onsite & on transit (planes, airport lounges etc)

Asus Taichi 31 - tablet / laptop hybrid ; easy to play with on transit

http://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/TAICHI_31/

Alienware 14 - most powerful 14" laptop ; more usability when onsite or at home

http://www.dell.com/au/p/alienware-14/pd?oc=w510772au&model_id=alienware-14

Laptop will be my only system at home, transit & on-site.

Better to get a laptop with more power to use at home/onsite or a laptop which is easier to use during transit etc?

Any other suggestions would be great! Although dont want to spend more than $2k

Thanks :)

yes they put you in groups.

they will ask for any experience when you say none they will look at the car and pick a group.

Auto Manual Stag will be in one of the slowest ones.

Just do the next SAU VIC track day Huy

At least you'll be driving with alot of familiar faces

And less chance of a random spinning out in an emo.

hmmm.... you guys think I'll be fine with stock breaks? 1 hard lap then 1 cool down lap in each run?

Think I might stick to deca this year before a tune and brake upgrade.

Don't buy a netbook. You'll just want to head->desk repeatedly.

Although that said, I'm a fan of the PC at home, and if going down route of home pc+laptop; laptops are fairly affordable these days and should be able to get a decent i5 etc. Haswell is out now too, so.

I'll probably buy an ultrabook of some sort next sem.

Always gotta weigh up performance vs cost vs portability... but $2K budget seems plenty to get best of all three aspects.

I've heard some good things about LBO horize ones which you can customize too. But name brands are around for a reason too :P

If you want to use on the move get a 13 inch ultra book

Personally I'm looking to move to a Samsung ultra book myself

If you need more power/ screen than an ultra book at home get a tablet and a home system separate

And no idea why ppl think I travel much!!!!!

They do Alienware stuff now anyway.

this. reason alone not to get Alienware.

Dell is probs best for cheap laptops because of "customer service" and no lack of spares. in the end, it's a laptop, it'll be a POS in 2 years no matter how good care you take of it (unless it sits dormant and doesn't have new things installed)

speaking of travel, 4:45 wake-up call for 7:45 flight yay. only going to Sydney though, so not as exciting. f**king swear flights to Fuji would have been cheaper *grumble*

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
