Was driving home last night from oakleigh, driving on princess highway at around 11 30pm or so i see a shit load of imports racing, drags were on so i decided to just follow and watch. Anyways i stayed for about an hour or so just watching until i decided to go home, on my way home i get pulled over by a cop in a motorbike, this is the first time ive been pulled over. Cop asks me if i did a U-turn back on princess highway, i said no im pretty sure i didnt. Goes back to hes bike for a good 10 mins and fines me $180 bucks no demerit for a U-turn i didnt do =s I was beginning to think the whole skyline cop bait thing was just a rumour =[ atleast i didnt cop any points so im not fussed that much lol.

Very true not into that alternative nonesense myself

You just keep telling yourself that...

oh yes please do let me hear the 'aussie rap' I'm fascinated by the tales of hardship and despair it must have been tough coming up from the hard streets of Australia.. straight hustlin no doubt. hustlin all the way down to centrelink to collect benefits that would rival minimum wage in other countries that mind you work is actually required to obtain.

and the bogan twang yeh just aint gangster.

You're going to pay a fine for something you didn't do?

yeh thats car life for ya.

fkn sucks would only ever buy someone else hard work if i got another import doing it yourself is a fools choice too expensive to many headaches.

Yeh I know what you mean, next import, ill just pay someone to modd it..

Yeah im just going to pay it cbf with the headaches of taking it to court.

I did do U-turns but i did them where i was allowed to. There were signs that said no U-turns 10pm-6am i went further down and did them where i was allowed to. There were heaps of other r33 silver skylines, maybe he got me confused with someone else? When he asked me if i did a u-turn i said no, he went back to hes radio and got more info.

Id be pissed if i lost points but i didnt so im happy lol.

Bullshit chances are slim to none, I've contested 2 fines in the last couple of years. One of them went to court, they didn't show up and so it was overturned. The other I was actually in the wrong I sent it back saying I'd contest in in court and it was overturned just off that.

anyways, i filled my car up full tank with 100 octane, counted how much i got out of a full tank, i got 350 km with the needle being a few mm away from hitting the completely last bar, probably could of lasted until 375-400 but i didnt wanna risk running out of fuel lol. Im guessing my cars drinking alot more then it should? Any ideas on getting better fuel consumption? I was driving it soft changing gear around 3k rpm.

Most Aussie rap isn't about stuff like that, which is why many move to it from / prefer it to the American stuff, cause it's not just the same old "life was shit as a dealer and a killer, but look at me now, I got a contract and a Maybach, later haters".

That being said, even when the lyrics are "woe is me", you don't have to be black and growing up in Detroit/Brooklyn/Crenshaw to have a hard upbringing. Plenty of abusive families, violence and homeless people in Australia!

How many litres did you fill it up with? I'm guessing around 50 litres, in which case that's pretty normal economy for a Skyline. And if it hasn't been done, changing the oxygen sensor can help your fuel economy. But I wouldn't be bother if you net around 400km from 50 litres.

A light will come on when the needle is near the E and you'll still have 20km or so left. It's a 60 litre tank.

I dont hate aussie hip hop based off the life... I hate it cos it SOUNDS shit.

every group just sounds like the hilltops no matter how much the fans try to say it doesn't... and since the hilltops sound like an audio track of 2 men open mouth kissing.. that pretty much rules out aussie hip hop for me.

Yeah not of a fan it sounds like arse either way.

Fair enough if you don't like the sound/accent/production. That was an acquired taste for me, but it helped that I was relatively bored of US hip hop by then...even the less mainstream acts like Atmosphere, Aesop Rock, old Lupe Fiasco etc. Aussie has a backyard relatable quality to it that you can't find in rap from another country; also helps if you mix with people who like it too.

It might sound or look silly, but in the same light, so does an Aussie kid in his car, rapping along to a 50 cent song about American landmarks etc.!

    • Even more fun, leave all the ADAS stuff plugged in, but in different locations, hopefully avoid any codes! And honestly, all these new cars with their weird electronics. Pull all the electronics out Duncan, and just shove an aftermarket ECU and if needed a trans controller in, along with a PDM. Make it run basic but race car styled!
    • To follow up a question from earlier too since I had the front bar off again (fking!) This is what is between the bumper and the drivers side wheel And this is the navigator side, only one thing but its a biggy! So basically....no putting coolers in the wheel arches without a lot of moving other stuff. Assuming I move to properly race prepping this car I'll take that job on and see how the computers respond to removing a whole bunch of ADAS modules
    • So I prepped the car for another track day on Wednesday (will be interesting to see coolant temps post flushing out and the larger reservoir, with a forecast of 3-14 being 20o cooler than last time I took it out). Couple of things to mention; since I am just driving the car and not taking a support vehicle, I took the rear seats out and just loaded the back up Team Trackday style. Look at all that space! To cover off removing the rear seat....it is weird (note the hybrid is probably different because it wouldn't have folding rear seats) Basically, you remove the lower seat base, very similar to a r series but it is a clip that pulls forward to release the base rather than it being bolted down. Easy Then, you need to remove the side section of the rear seat on each side. There is a 14mm head nut at the bottom of the side piece, the it slides upwards off a hook at the top to release; you also need to unhook the seatbelt from the loop at the top. Then the centre piece is weird. You need to release/fold the seats forward with the tab in the boot on each side From there, there are 2,x12mm headed bolts holding the rear of each seat to the folding bracket, under the trim between the rear seat and the boot (4x christmas tree clips there, they suck). The seat is out but you can see where the bolts attach to the bracket
    • As discussed in the previous post, the bushes in the 110 needed replacing. I took this opportunity to replace the castor bushes, the front lower control arm, lower the car and get the alignment dialled in with new tyres. I took it down to Alignment Motorsports on the GC to get this work done and also get more out of the Shockworks as I felt like I wasn't getting the full use out of them. To cut a very long story short, it ended up being the case the passenger side castor arm wouldn't accept the brand new bush as the sleeve had worn badly enough to the point you could push the new bush in by hand and completely through. Trying a pair of TRD bushes didn't fix the issue either (I had originally gone with Hardrace bushes). We needed to urgently source another castor arm, and thankfully this was sourced and the guys at the shop worked on my car until 7pm on a Saturday to get everything done. The car rides a lot nicer now with the suspension dialled in properly. Lowered the car a little as well to suit the lower profile front tyres, and just bring the car down generally. Eternally thankful for the guys down at the shop to get the car sorted, we both pulled big favours from our contacts to get it done on the Saturday. Also plugged in the new Stedi foglights into the S15, and even from a quick test in the garage I'm keen to see how they look out on the road. I had some concerns about the length of the LED body and whether it'd fit in the foglight housing but it's fine. I've got a small window coming up next month where I'll likely get a little paint work done on the 110 to remove the rear wing, add a boot wing and roof wing, get the side skirt fixed up and colour match the little panel on the tail lights so that I can install some badges that I've kept in storage. I'm also tempted to put in a new pair of headlights on the 110. Until then, here's some more pictures from Easter this year.
    • I would put a fuel pressure gauge between the filter and the fuel rail, see if it's maintaining good fuel pressure at idle going up to the point when it stalls. Do you see any strange behavior in commanded fuel leading up to the point when it stalls? You might have to start going through the service manual and doing a long list of sensor tests if it's not the fuel system for whatever reason.
