On a semi-related note... you know you go to a tyre shop too often when they've got your car for several hours tracking down a puncture to repair and checking the rest of the rim in their tank to make sure there's no other leaks... Then you get them to swap the lock nuts on the rims to the standard nuts you supplied but they misread the work sheet and only did 4 nuts from each wheel... so the manager does it himself in the hot sun by hand.

Then he says "Oh don't even worry about it, no charge"

/win

So...after many hours they finally did what you originally asked them to?

lol gonna head to thewheeldeal on the way home and get something there those maxxis MA-Z1s are $205, can get some fresh Achilles for $115 review dont look so bad:

At least till I get some decent width rims on again

Maybe I'll schedule in the next appointment while I get them changed over

Keep it in perspective though, all those reviews are written by people who spend $115 on performance tyres

LOL I'm not expecting much from $115 tyres

It's purely so there's something legal on there and not on the wires, if I was to have a stack in the wet currently fat chance of insurance covering it

The fact I only have a 8" stock rim don't think it'll matter what I have on there anyway, easy to loose traction regardless

I said they had the car for that long, not I was sitting there waiting that long... Key takeaway point was, it was free and now the emo is no longer limping along with low pressures in the mornings.

Not sure if oxymoron

Just a moron...

What fat rimz are you thinking of Leigh? They're 5x114.3 yeah? Can put something jdm tite on there to piss off the purists from both camps?

Yeah 5x114.3 i'd love some jdm ones but problem is 19 or 20 inch decent size jdm rims cost an absolute fortune.

Would love some meisters or something similar if I were to find them though.

Dam these are just too low offset and would scrub a fair bit

needs to be said.

we need to improve our driving test.

and stop parents teaching kids/getting hours in.

make mandatory lessons with a registered instructor law.

too many times i have seen learners sat in the right hand lane for 5km and they are not turning. etc etc etc.

the state of driving in this country is terrible.

im not saying the basic driving skill, im saying the ability to drive to the rules and conditions of the road.

tldr?

your a shit kent driver mate.

I wouldn't trust 'professional' instructors, I've seen them teaching learners dodgy shit. Like lane hogging, driving below the limit (don't care if it's 'safe' but it cause more trouble than its worth).

nah man heat gun and jack stands.

thing is i cant even do a skid once theyre up to temp. LOL

it just launched. launched like a f**king champion as well.

RIP ass end.

Heat gun? Shits gonna take ages!

Heater and jack stands is better option ;)

    • Oh, also, forgot to add these photos I believe.
    • Thought i'd update on this. I was able to get in contact with Craig Lieberman and later on Darryl Alison (owner of Kaizo Industries). Darryl was able to help me verify that my car was in fact one of theirs and is helping me find more info on mine !
    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
