I think the rims atm from a quick measure with them still on car so might a bit off are 235/45/17 with a 17x9 +38

Well if that’s the case then it’s only a 2mm difference... to be sure you should have a look at the inside of the wheel spokes.. it will be engraved somewhere.

if you have the measurement correct then 2mm should be fine (as long as you’re not 1-2mm off the suspension lol) just make sure you also check the fronts at full lock both directions.

I just won some Work Meisters,  3 piece SP1.   Plan on seeing if they work with my GTT.   Should be interesting, lol.   Any idea what tires a guy should run?

Work Meisters S1
5x114.3

18x10+22

Minimum 3 degree camber and ultra stretched tyres ? 235s and 245s

Thanks to everyone's input here.  Been a lot of help reading through this.  I have a bit of a different situation.  I have a GTT with GTR fenders added on.  I ordered 18-9.5 +12 LM GT4s but they don't fit as I think some of the original GTT fender is in the way.  The shop is now telling me to order 18-9.5 +22 up front and 18-10 +22 for the back.  Any thoughts on this?  I don't want to end up with a second set of wheels that don't fit.  Car came with 18-10.5 +22 TE's but they were rubbing a bit so I was looking to change them out.

Thanks

(Just for future reference for other people wanting fitment suggestions)

I've got Work Meister S1 3P's on my 34 GTT.

18x9 +18p front on a 225/40R18
18x10 + 18p rear on a 255/35R18

Fitment is near perfect. Minimal camber in the rear too. Fronts I could probably have gone another half inch wider and cleared perfectly fine. Car is not sacked on its ass though as I hate guard rub. Only get a tiny bit as is if I go over a solid bump with a few people in the car. I have slightly pulled my fenders however.

Strange that they don’t fit. What tyres you running? I have 18x9.5 +20 on my fronts with 235 rubber and they clear easily

maybe you are running too much tyre on the front?

Otherwise you could get a wheel alignment and possibly adjust camber half a degree

The TE's have 265-40 on them.  I'm not sure what tire was put on the LMGT's when it was test fitted.  I'm having a shop handle all this for me as the car is down for a full rebuild.

A 265 wide tyre should only be running 35 sidewall not 40. This should solve the issue

I’ve decided I rather run more tire and less offset. I’d like ro run 235/40 up front and 255-265/35 rear. Trying to decide if I wanna try to make 18x9.5 +22 square fit or go the safe route and do 18x8.5 +30 front and 18x9.5 +35 rear.

Edit: unfortunately the wheels I have picked out dont have a 18x9 option or I would opt for that for the front

Any advice? I’d like to avoid poke if I could. I know 235/40 on 9.5 will stretcn a bit but it’s not too over the top. My car also has GTR brembo’s so I gotta make sure everything clears lol

both options will fit, the square set will look better and more chance of clearing the front brakes depending on the disk type.

Hi Im looking at getting some work GT5 wheels in 18 x 9 +30 front and 18 x 10 +38 rear.  Car is fairly low on BC coilovers and all guards are rolled. Will the 18 x 10 + 38 clear the coilover fine??  Will it sit fairly flush or better off going a bit more aggressive offset. Don't really want to be cambering the wheels or having crazy poke. Just after a nice clean look.

Should be more than fine.

There's a lot of space in the rear of a 34 on the inside, I don't know too much about the BC's vs other coilovers back there, I have 18x9 +30 all round and have something like 40mm clearance on the inside. It'll poke a litttle on the rear, but 10+38 is a very common size for the rear of skylines in general in regards to that.

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
