This Website Is Now Pathetic. Sau Has Gone To The Dogs

If solid discussion involves some 17yr old school kid asking for an R35 to get to a formal, its not good news for a forum like this.

I think its a shame that the few have ruined it for the many. Members like Anfanee are classic forum abusers who get away with comments like the above and should be banned, and you guys as Mods should be taking better action to keep the comments on topic.

Anyways. I have to admit this is the most I've been on this forum in 2 years.. Everyone needs a drama LOL

You guys hang shit on SAU, the members, take personal stabs at the mods when you obviously have no idea how hard it is to run a site like this. Then cry when someone calls you out on it? None of you are willing to help Prank or anyone for that matter.

Like i said, if you are not willing to even work with people to fix the issue, can't you see you are half the problem? Maybe if you guys had put in a little bit of effort instead of whinging like 2 year olds the issue may have been fixed.

Why do you need to be so adversarial? Given your strong understanding on what it takes to run a site like this and PranK's post on costs, why can't I see that you've made a donation Anfanee?

It would be good if all R35 owners could contribute to this site in a positive manner and if there were less spam/stupid threads as well.

There's no reason why we can't turn this section into a wealth of information as per other SAU sub-forums. For that we need people contributing.

The for sale section also has the opportunity to thrive and it would be good if we got suppliers/tuners contributing too.

I think a lot has been taken too seriously in this thread. I think a lot of what has been said has been tongue-in-cheek and some have taken it too seriously.

For me, its a shame that people want to leave but thats entirely up to them and I'm certainly not about to get angry or worked up about it.

Whatever people want to do is obviously fine, but I've had a couple of guys approach me about being mods in the R35 area and I'm hoping they become the advocates we need in a section that really does have a lot to offer.

I'm not a fan of closing threads where solid discussion is involved, so I'll leave this open.

Wardski, it irks me that you added 'ad free' to your last post. Trust me, if I could afford to run this site without ads, I would.

I really don't think calling another forum user a f***king retard and a f**ken wanker is tongue and cheek. Its just plain childish and rude.

What Anfenee has just clearly demonstrated is the reason why most R35 owners do not use or contribute to this subforum.

I was here over 2 years ago and sadly its comments like the above that have put off many R35 owners myself included. I don't know the history of why this division has occurred in the SAU forum and why some of the other 32/33/34 owners have a chip on their shoulders but it does not help promote anything in the R35 section of this forum. Yes we have over 90 owners in the FB group now and we also have 2-3 experts who run/own garages that service and modify R35's. They contribute regularly on any technical issues and answer questions without any unnecessary marketing/promotion of their products. We have also had some great meets, drives and technical talks at garages where a specific topic is discussed.

So far for me I can say its all been very positive on the FB forum.

In many ways it is marketing and promoting ones own products. Just by constantly saying "look at me" when things are done and posted by business owners. Sometimes it's genuine help, but at the end of the day it's still business promotion and more often than not there is a hopefully benefit to doing it - I mean it's business after all, I get it, I've got a few of my own.

Of course there are ways to go about it to be less intrusive and we certainly can offer that to any business that wishes to sponsor SAU. Take Hypergear for example, Stao is a long term sponsor and regularly helps users on a technical level but can also have the flexibility of saying "we can also offer this to you for $XXXX" in a thread. That is a win-win for everyone... The community gets something and he then gets something back. Rather than in your face type flogging of products in every thread etc which is certainly too much at times for a lot of people... Sorta that marketplace type feeling, that isn't SAU anyway.

We want to be able to talk about our cars without all the other bashing and hate that has come in the past...

Just a quick history lesson for you guys and I bet a LOT of R35 owners probably don't know about it. About 18 months ago (might have been 24) when there was talk of the splinter forum and issues/reasons behind it from within the R35 camp - there was actually an offer put forward from SAU to try and help out with it so everyone could remain together as one larger group where everyone benefits.

The offer consisted of:

- Private section for R35 guys, as a sub area of SAU. Similar to how the State Clubs are run.

- Own moderators etc.

- Some type of peer-verification process to ensure only R35 owners and/or approved users could see it all.

- Still host galleries etc (which is expensive)

- SAU obviously eats all the cost of it, people just have to live with banner ads, fair enough really.

The sad part was, after that was put forward... It was simply ignored by the people it was put to. Not even a reply of "thank, but no thanks" was given back to us here @ SAU.

We also approached a few businesses on a few occasions to be a part of it and so on, help sponsor it and we had offered some of these people a discounted rate. Given it would be a lower traffic area, we get it. Some took it on-board, some didn't etc and it didn't get off the ground anyway. Which is cool, that's just how it was. It didn't rely on sponsors coming on board either, in case that was a question.

But yeah, I guess let it not be said that we haven't tried to fix it or anything.

I also agree - the stuff Anfee has posted here in this very thread is pointless and has proven the point. If the section can be revived then as Admin, I would fully back giving him a warning over it as it's just pointless arguing for the sake of it.

SAU was a key R35 information area for many years, it was thriving and to this day still has a bucket load of really solid technical information. A Facebook group is good, but at the end of the day trying to search for stuff and get some solid build threads/info threads going - you can only ever really do properly on a forum/board.

I already know Ali/IOWNU has expressed interest in trying to make something happen, and I put the above to anyone that if you guys want to revisit it - happy to start a PM group discussion with like minded people that actually want to work into the SAU Community, rather than separate to it. Help build it up, create it, help run it!

Hit me up if you are one of those said R35 guys :)

The good thing is, it looks like Turboadam has pixed off :)

As a bloke that knew SFA about mods 11 months ago,I would like to thank the members for all of their help and even when I posted on the wrong thread I was given the info I was after.

If I open a thread that is spam, it only takes a click and it is gone, shat that was hard :(

I would also like to thank the Admin blokes for their time and ongoing commitment to SAU, great job fellas :)

Seems the RB community use this forum more than the R35 owners LOL

To fix the issue would be to have you banned from posting on the R35 forum. Do you own an R35? Why are you even here???

Some really quality people in here LOL.

Have fun boys :whistling:

Why do you care what Turbodam does? Does he affect your life in such a manner that it warrants you to make such a comment?

Too little too late IMO.

There will be new members coming here in the future, and for sure they will learn very quickly that they're not welcome and its over-run with RB owners. Anyone seeking information on any issues (for example when I was after info on bellhousing rattle) will be promptly told by RB owners the R35 is a piece of S**t and the laughing stock of the Godzilla series - like I was when I first came to this forum seeking information.

You know, because the "no valuable information here" they started a whole new forum, which magically had all the information they needed.

And i note above Post counts of pretty much every 35 owner i have seen on these forums, they wonder why there isn't any information? Do you understand how forums work?

f**king retards that come here and never give back to the community. Good riddance.

So lets do the math from OP shall we...

101 Posts and 7 years.

Ill say that's 15 posts a year
Times that by 90 users....
1350 posts.
Your forum must be Hectic busy.
Farken wanker.

And for the MODS, WHY THE F**K is this post still here? Does it not contravene the very rules to posting on this forum?????? Is this guy somehow SPECIAL and above the rules?

You guys don't do yourselves any favours!

It wasn't too late 2 odd years ago - but hey, lets give it a whirl. No point being negative about it, but you can be if you want.

By continually replying, quoting to posts - you are really just as bad as the others and continuing the situation. End of the day, a public area is open to the public.

Hence the offer of a Private area was put forward and while it wasn't taken up last time - seems round 2 might be a shot. Guess you can either be a part of it, or not.

The R35 group on FB is incredibly active and there are a lot of members, who all own/tune/race R35s. This forum is an effective double up, so I can't see this offer being taken.

True. Stick to Facebook. Much higher class of people on there. :P

All us VQ blokes have had issues over the years, most of the RB owners were never interested in our work and many arguments have been started over it in the Stagea section, but we got over it, and now the Stagea section is stronger for it. Sooking about it won't help at all, you need to stick by your guns and stand up for yourselves, as no-one else will.

The reason there isn't much information for the R35 is due to the cost of the cars, most owners just take their GTR to a specialist mechanic, there is little DIY anywhere on the net for it. As the price comes down there will be a flood of info on common issues, like the bellhousing rattles and gearbox fixes.
