I like cars without modern driver aids.

200rwkw+ / tonne in 90's Jap cars is worth the 20 year old hastle

Bit different though comparing a r33/180sx or similar to a ls barge

Of course it's fun to drive but it's also cheap to fix

This

Have driven many late model cars including sports cars, compacts, family badges, luxuries...they are more comfortable and that's it

Everything else about them, nothing is stacking up to it

Maybe I'm biased to a particular era and refuse to enjoy anything else, but can't say I haven't tried

350/370Z is a good example

It should be an awesome car that I would want over my GTS-T but it's not and I don't; 86 same deal

then you've got 33 GTR prices to increase in a few years.

mean while in LS Lexus land... $200 separates a 1991 LS400 (300,000kms) and a 1997 LS400 (180,000kms) lol. both sub $5000. at this rate they'll be cheaper dailies than a SSS.

I'm unsure of where these could go in terms of price.

32R prices are holding strong and even going up, but with 32Rs people have that bathurst-winning original Godzilla omg JDM not a boat like 33 but only 20kg lighter Gibson motorsport look mah I'm a race car driver from 25 years ago with my VN dash ziller original and the best I want an original no mods so I can waste money and modify it the way I like which will actually be like everyone else does anyway and did I mention glass headlights oh it's an N1 front bar...shit about them that I think spurs that market price on.

That combined with people writing them off at a stupid rate that is giving them rarity too.

33R will enjoy the rarity from people writing them off, but in the future they may not be as sought after as 32s are right now? I fear price wise they'll do what GTS-Ts have done and just become cheap beyond what they should be. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Such this

lol its true.

but 'merica will want 33's.

on-topic to 90's jap sports cars: all coupes have f**k ugly dashes. its a fact. that unsymmetrical, prone-to-cracking, cheap-looking, weird pods POS. GTiR's, 180's, 32's, 33s, 34s, supras... heaps more. sure they look nice on the outside, then you peer inside. its why so many people try to draw attention to the seats and door trims. cause they cant change the dash. and thats why those carpeted race dashes look so good.

I do like how 90s jap cars drive and all.. but miss out on dat dere bluetooth and ipod connectivity, reverse camera, cup holders, and steering wheel buttons that are awesome for daily driver..

Maybe I'm just getting old.

TIL all 90's nissans have stock head units and are unable to be changed in any way.

See also: $50 reverse camera.

TIL also my Nissan does not have 4 cup holders!

Stop making excuses not to have a 90s jap car; all of the above can be rectified in the aftermarket likely for cheaper than they are factory options in new cars

33 GTS-T dash?

Ergonomic as fk, everything lines up and looks purposefully there rather than an afterthought.

The reality is though gtsts / gtrs aren't realistic daily drives for a lot of people so the modern 'sports cars' try balance of performance, styling & modern creature comforts that people demand now

370z I actually thought was quite good to drive, interior was very average imo.

I wonder though weren't 32/33s like 80-100k back in the day? In which case comparing to a 60k 370z today would be unfair

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
