Congestion just means they don't have enough backhaul to provide the service... Modem means there's a fault and they can't provide the promised service.

Either way, you're not getting what you paid for, but it's Telstra... They used to have the monopoly on comms infrastructure... but with NBN ramping up thats going to change soon. So good luck getting them to spend money to maintain their soon to be unprofitable network.

Yup and with the abandonment of Optus cable infrastructure, you will need to wait for Nbn's fibre to the curb.

Need to upgrade to the new DOCSIS standard that allow for higher upload speeds... Looking at modem stats and seeing 6 unused upload channels and only getting 2mbps sucks.

Even in the middle of buttf**k nowhere when I was in Vietnam on guest wifi was getting 50mbps up / 50mbps down

For those that don't have me on FB but want to know what Supermoto is all about made a video of the track day over the weekend

Basically a dirt bike with slicks or road tyres on a dirt / road track, so riding on the dirt is sketchy af and can't use any front brake.

Had to get puncture sorted out today, the guys that swapped tyres onto my new rims pulled out a screw that I had on a tyre, it filled it up and left it saying she'll be right, nek day take it back to get plugged.. zzz 

I would of thought if I could tell something was wrong, they would be able to tell but eh.

things are a bit shakey in the states, with the election and wall street scares. Couple that with british pound still on the fall, oil price retrace because some people think this OPEC agreement will achieve nothing. The other thing (which may or may not be true) is the upcoming announcement potential dates are a bit vague so people looking to jump on the bandwagon may not wanna tie up their money for potentially weeks. 88e team mentioned theyre more interested in stabilising share price than playing a game of hype and peaks/troughs.

All internet providers use the same cabling/infrastructure if you are in a NBN zone.

Think of isps as owning a lane on a freeway. Although a multi-lane freeway has been built, if dodo has only paid for 1-lane it will get congested at peak-hour. Whilst Telstra could have 3 lanes to itself.

Take that argument up with your isp. Technology exists for gigabit speeds & the backhaul is built for it. Supply & demand - and the isp's have lost a chunk of their profit since they don't own the network anymore

True, best most of our customers have is like a telstra 50/50 or 100/100 which cost em an arm and a leg
