Pretty straight for a write off. Been contemplating buying back, but don't think it'd be worth it unless I got it real cheap.. A wrecker would clean up on it as everything is only 20,000km old and pretty much immaculate, but for the work involved I don't think it's viable for me.. Big items would probably be easy enough to sell, engine transmission wheels hard lid etc, but the rest would take forever to sell to break even and then make some money, which probably wouldn't be enough to justify the effort 20180423_145438.jpg

Had to do some work in the city yesterday, got back to the car at 3:35pm to find it towed and could see it down the road.. RIP $405 (Glad it was the work car and not my STI at least)

Expensive 5 minutes (turned to clearway at 3:30pm)

Ran over something, bent k frame bent transmission bracket, dented exhaust ripped the heat shield, slight gouge in the rear bar and probably broke some clips on the rear bar as it came out the back.. They said they were gonna fix it.. Few weeks later when it was supposed to be ready I get a call saying it damaged the floor and might be written off, 2 weeks after that it was gonna be repaired, another week or 2 later and it was written off... Damaged transmission tunnel etc etc

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
