How is this possible i cant get more than 405rwkw turbos apparently outa puff ... built motor fair bit of head work although std actuators and inlet. I call bs unless huge intake work

Fuel

Exhaust

Intake mods

Cams

Head work

It can be done, but the right parts need to be employed.

List everything...

Once the turbos are out of flow you can then make more power by using what they flow more effectively/efficiently like comp ratios and cam timing etc

E85 helps here to

but how will the exhaust gases get past the 2x restrictors?

unless you twin externally gate them.... then you might as well just get a single :)

But don't you get into issues of spinning them too fast with a bang to follow?

Depends on engine size really, 30psi on a 2.8 will make them spin to fast, 2.6 not so much but yeah still getting up there

Also by making the engine run more efficiently means the turbos don't have to work as hard for the same power

I have made 458awkw from GT-RSs on my 3.0 which run the same exhaust as -5s and Piggas has made 473rwkw with -5s on a 2.8 and I have been talking with a dude the has made 716rwhp from -10s on a 2.6 so I guess it comes down to how much power you want to make

you "could" do this.. 3" dump -> Cat (because we are sensible) -> 3.5" Cat Back... plumb gate back into 3.5" cat back.. bypassing the cat :)

legal enough.. at EPA they won't be cracking gates.

What was the cause for yours to hand grenade

Who knows, bearings were perfect, no oil stavation or heat damage apparent. Running 26 psi on a built 26.

Everyone threw their arms in the air, no one's fault and said show me the money for a rebuild. [emoji19]

Going single also can be risky if your not willing to external gate to atmosphere, i know people who plumbed back gate into 3" exhaust and wonder why its a laggy pig.

That's not risky, that's stupidity. Change 3 inch to something that belongs on there. I bet everything improves.

    • There's not a great deal to report here .... except ...... FOR .... LSD!!!  I bought a Quaife LSD from the UK and shipped it here .... Wish I'd just bought locally cause the shipping and duty was $700! But there were so many diffs used in the E90s I just wanted to be absolutely certain I was getting the right one so I spoke with a supplier in the UK who builds race cars and they have heaps of experience with the E90s.  I pulled the diff out which was seriously awesome - I've never done anything like that before, I must have watched 1000 videos on YT about it as well as consulting the Bentley manual. It was super easy in the end. The diff was delivered to the awesome folks at Hornsby Diffs and will be back in a few weeks. I also replaced the diff bushings with some Nolathane ones.  Really looking forward to getting it back and getting back to the track or even the skidpan.
    • yeah... the 13kg/mm springs weren't always in there, I had 10kg/mm but doing a few SMSP commanded heavier front springs. It's so good now going into T1 and T2, just need more seat time and real tyres.
    • Yes, well. Mine are less than half that. ARBs are not set to "dumb" either.
    • I would hope. But, we all know even the best companies have an issue sporadically.
    • LOL well, lucky mine doesn't have some R shit on it. Around town, it handles so much better than the R33, R33 in the wet is pretty dangerous to the untrained hoon, especially with 13kg/mm front springs.
