Well, the gtrs rear is the same as the -5/63 etc, I was just noting that there was an option out there that had the same flow as them except a smaller lighter wheel.

Simon may have had heat issues on the track, but he did have the response of -5s and almost 500awkws aswell, noting it would be a pretty kickass Street combo

Twins are gaids, only really works on a V6 or V8 or so when you have separate plenum a for the group of cylinders that are huffing into the turbo.

Twin scroll is where it is at, less restriction better efficiency and less piping and all the other bullshit associated with twins.

Look at Piggaz I told him over 6 years ago (not kidding) and look at him now. He's woken up to reality :)

I went built motor with a t51r [emoji16] even that was more fun

Prior to the rs's I had 2530 and they were heaps better. I bought the gtrs's just to try something different but the amount of shuffle made them absolute shit to drive with. I could not accelerate in 5 gear cruising on the freeway. I always had to drop back a gear.

Turbo is a nugget doesn't matter what engine is bolted to it's garbage much better options out there especially for the money they ask.

you just have to measure the front compressor wheel and then measure the turbine wheel.

it's the same as boosting your car to 50 psi and leaving the 2 inch exhaust on who cares what air you can get in you'll never get it out.

Got out of a stock 2.6 with a dirty old T04Z open scroll today.

Was actually quite impressed. 4500 rpm and was cracking gates, yet made 450 rwkw on unigroups dyno. Straight back onto song between gears.

Makes me upset why I've been playing in the sandpit for the last 9 years with twins.

Dry sump might be next on that list.

Bet the power delivery was fun.

Bet the power delivery was fun.

It was.

Linear, quick to fall back into its stride. I would 100000% prefer that than a set of -5's (let alone a set is RS's) on a stock engine. Makes me very curious to see what a 3582R would do on the same setup, being smaller.

That was an old dinosaur garrett Z, open scroll, single gate setup.

Went in a stock 26 with 3582 once, man the power rush is hilarious.

Until fuel pump wiring fell out somehow (a donkey installed said pump) stopped me from buying that R.

Been debating whether to man up to get one for a couple of years, living close to Knox didn't help haha.

    • Hi GTSBoy, Excuse my ignorance but what does a "Bad" Knee point mean ?
    • HFM BM57 has a "bad" knee point, IIRC. It's not the same thing as the later R chassis MC.
    • The ATTESSA is functionally identical to R34; there were a bunch of JDM models that continued ATTESSA including Fuga/Q70, Skyline/Q50, Cima etc as an option. All with Auto only and I think mostly for snow regions. AFAIK there were no AWD VR30DDTT sold in Australia - it is on my to do list to check regs for racing a LHD car in Targa/ATR/AASA/CAMS events because if I can get the auto to work it would be interesting to run a 4wd car The Ecuteck TCM tuning is the same model as their ECU tuning, they already have it for R35 and Dose's favourite, BMW. You buy "points" to allow your computer to be tuned, buy either a bluetooth (phone app) or bluetooth+USB+Key (phone and PC) dongle, and pay for a tune that will be locked to your tuner ( ). You can also access the tuning software yourself but 1. it is mega expensive and 2. these computers have a billion parameters that intersect, so how could you ever spend enough time on it to get a decent result.
    • Or, is it a case of what it is like owning an R series Skyline? NFI what the previous owner has done or fiddled with... Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
