Needs a GTR boot badge now.

Never!

I even got the panel beater to shave off the end plates so they're blank.

I have the GT-R badge from that boot if anyone wants it.

I miss the days when E85 was like $0.90 tops.

First trip to United, post plastic surgery and make over.

surely someone jumped out of the bushes to ask questions/check out the car. this happens every time the e85 pump is picked up.

Was there at 8:45AM, all the school kids and dreamers still in bed or waiting for their mothers to make them breakfast.

Long time no house update. So as some of you guys might remember, I ran out of time to find an older house to renovate and ended up with a new duplex built by your typical "property developer" 🙄

Poorly built, heaps of cheap shit appliances but looks good on the eyes kind of place.

Anyhow, being Asian and constantly frying food we needed a better rangehood. The junk that came with the house was too small, and also flowed like 250m^3/h at full tilt not to mention sounds as loud as an outdated Soviet jet.

Out with the old, in with the new. Schweigen dis dat, 1000m^3/h should help with my cooking (no, I don't eat dog).

Why did I use hand tools? My son was having his midday nap. It was sure hard work!

So what do you think of it? How does it compare to the piece of crap that was in before? In terms of sound and performance. I hate how most fan-powered appliances are loud and useless. Both in the kitchen and bathroom and it looks like this company has it all.

Are you going to be recording a clip with it running? @Kinkstaahset a great example. Clip on the lapel mic, stand at the stove, bang some pots and pans and it'll give a good impression of what it's really like. I'm only half joking and genuinely curious whether this is good stuff.

As an aside, schweigen means to be silent in German. As in not speaking.

It's night and day difference in terms of performance and sound.

I didn't go for the silent version, which has the motor externally mounted (cbf installing and we don't plan to live here "that long"). This one is just the conventional style one with the motor sits inside the enclosure.

The motor has a lower frequency when operating and you can tell is more refined. Inside there's even an oil catch under the motor which is pretty cool.

Will give it a real test this weekend searing a steak 🙂

We got the external motor mounted one, it's friken awesome. Pricey though, like $2k. At full tilt it sounds like a pedestal fan. Only problem is the exhaust/motor is mounted right outside my bedroom window...

At least your room would smell delicious all the time 😂

Post steak vids or GTFO. Cmon man, I set an example (and my example was so bad I intend to do it again, with better gear (when it arrives tomorrow...)

Also I drove a M3 Competition in anger for a couple of hours recently. It absolutely doesn't compare to my own abomination. Yours likely similar. You lust after what you do not understand, stay away gateway german appliances, lest you spend much more on more expensive appliance in the future!

  • 3 weeks later...

Found some time to work on the shit box, unpaired the passenger window from the driver side output and now I have independent window control again 🥰

Previous window switch decided not to work anymore and finding a replacement 12-pin one was pretty much impossible. Finding new was out of the question too, all the new ones are 8-pin which is not compatible unless I change the loom and install a window amplifier.

After 2 years or more of Fast and Furious Johnny Tran S2000 Power Window action I found a working used switch for $60 (wreckers wanted $240 just for the switch only!!!!!).

Wait, the R33 changed the window switch pinouts between years too?
I'm assuming the 8 pin one has lower current control voltages, and the "power amplifier" is to just ramp the current up?

My 33 presently has no switches, and pretty much no factory R33 wiring in it.
The doors have their wiring, and the boot has the tail lights wiring, that's it. I've simply found to put windows up and down when I need to (Working on car etc), that I just give 12V direct to the window motor... Works great for me, ha ha ha

They sure bloody do!

There are 3x variations from what I know.

8, 12, 13 pins!

And I was only saying on Friday I wanted a wiring diagram for the window switches, as I want to see how they do it from the factory before I get a double throw switch and 2 relays per window and make my own old school circuit to run them!

    • Yes, I know🙄 but the sequential is not in my budget... don't want to reduce power neither, so looks like I'm stuck in the rabbit hole🤣
    • You’ll be very upset when you bust that too not to mention the gearing totally sucks. Don’t do it.
    • Is the panel filter one that is oiled? Have you ever cleaned or touched the AFM?
    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
    • It is the stock air box with the panel filter. Everything else is stock except the exhaust at this point, as I also went back to the cleaned 270cc injectors. I will check the RPM when the IACV is unplugged and report back.
