  1. It's not here yet... still a week away. Also my car isn't here yet, there has been a little drama.
  2. For your lights, check that the switch for high beam isn't stuck on. I had this once in another car...
  3. Silly question for you... what is that? ^^^ Is it just a connector?
  4. Ah my bad there... maybe track down the importer/compliancer? I managed it for a 33GTR i was looking to buy earlier this year. The gentlemen was pretty unhelpful, but maybe you'll have better luck.
  5. DoctorG. Im also in Vic. I just bought a 33 after a long search. PM me, i'd be happy to share my findings in buying one...
  6. If this were my car, i would pay to have my japanese history found and sent to me. (Auction slip wh where applicable and De-Reg Cert). This will give you piece of mind and proof that the car is as you know it to be. A $200 investment would be well worth your time here. *There's a couple of threads on this, i know because i asked how it can be done.
  7. My two cents on this topic; Good quality 33s are on the rise. I started looking around this time last year. Prices were mid to low 20s for a 33 (decent ones) in the time it's taken me to pull my finger out clean stock 33s are around 30-35k. Of course i bought way outside of stock so my car doesnt count as normal pricing. But i can say a R33 LM Limited, cannot be had for less than 45k in Australia right now. They are crazy money from Japan!!!
  8. I would also stop testing the system live, you might be damaging your wire as it will be heating the wiring up until the resistance reaches a point where your battery requires 60A to over come it to make the circuit. Yiu may start a fire.
  9. I replied to you on a different post... i didnt notice thar you werent the OP. Here's my teo cents from the info in the other post. Based on your description above all of the power in your circuit is going through that one fuse. Is it possible that the circuits are bridged elsewhere in the car? Also if you have a normal car battery you shouldnt be seeing a voltage increase while cranking. If anything it may drop to the maximum power of the battery (less volts but more amps). Is it possible you have the batteries in series not parallel? If it were me, i would draw my circuit, then confirm each point on the circuit you imagine, vs what you have in the car. For me drawing my circuit always brings clarity. Not judging, just trying to assist.

  11. Oh. Sorry I misunderstood. So for mine the audio runs through the stereo and i can enable and disable the speakers via remote. Its a low tech way of doing a similar thing to what you're after. In that case, i dont have any specific models for you. Maybe give the cheapest a go? See if it works?
  12. Yep. The more time goes by the more obvious this was an opportunistic and unplanned effort by boy wonder to steal it. - Attempting it at 4.25pm on a sunny day in a busy street. - Parking so close. - Having to drive his car away. - Dropping a receipt from his pocket. - Leaving all the tools behind. But that said he was quick, he only had the steering lock and immobiliser left to defeat. Dangerous what a little knowledge can do.
  13. Leaving again... (happened much earlier today).
  14. JB Hifi have a reasonable pair of JBL headphones on sale at the moment for $79. Otherwise you can do what I do, buy the cheapest pair to test the technology, then invest in a decent pair at a later stage.
  15. Oh and no Beats! Stay away from Beats at all costs. I prefer Sennheiser myself.
  16. Bluetooth is your best bet. You can also get IR. If it were me I'd be looking for Bluetooth. They should be good for 15 meters coverage. You should also be able to switch them off on the headphones. (A literal switch).
  17. Other than the whole break in/attempted theft. The car is awesome. Different though. You feel and hear everything thats happening. It's kind of as though only the basics have been isolated from the driver and every other piece of feedback stays. Drive train feels tight, the gearbox has a positive action and gear slot home nicely. The engine has soooo much torque. It really means you don't need to change gear often. But that's actually a bit of a shame for the gearbox. The suspension is not my thing. It's way too hard for my liking and feels way overdamped. (No offense Gav). I'll be softening it up as soon as i get it back. The brakes also need a little heat to be quite as immediate as i like. But really these are all minor changes. So all in all 10 out of 10. Would drive again!
  18. Fair enough. Just throwing ideas at you. Sometimes im helpful, sometimes not so much.
  19. I may have this wrong, but apparently if you aren't heating up the exhaust enough fuel and vapor can build up in the exhaust. Because it runs rich (to protect turbo/engine) it dumps quite a bit. It then eats into the metal and causes leaks. Its on my list (just got bumped by new/better security) to look into.
  20. The guy couldnt have been older than 20. He was just a kid. Crazy really and just so brazen.
  21. The boy wonder who attempted this appears to have shown up in his own ,or somehow related vehicle (which I took photos of). He also dropped a receipt with his credit card on it... The police are making inquiries with the retail establishment regarding their CCTV. They also told me they believe they have a good set of prints from the car. So all in all the police have been super responsive here, very friendly and supportive and look to be on the path to prosecute. Kudos to the police.
  22. Hi all, The main points: I still have the car. Everyone is ok. Car is insured. Here are some images of the car and the damage that occurred. The kid to his eternal discredit had clearly done this before. The tools that are now in the passenger seat were his. The powder you can see is the police guys fingerprinting the car. There is a scissor blade snapped off in the door lock. The car has since been moved to a secure location and will not be able to be moved. It is my opinion that this was an opportunistic theft attempt, I don't believe they knew about the car before they spotted it. Weirdly it looks as though he took one of the caps off the rear wheel... which is odd.
  23. Mulgrave. It shows how easy they are to get into. Guess ill have to think about an annoying alarm and tracking package.
  24. So i picked the car up from Racepace around 11 this morning, drove it to work where i parked it where i could see it directly in front of the building. I carry on with my work showing the car off ans having a good time until late afternoon. One of the other engineers comes upstairs and doesnt even mention it. I ask him if we just not going to talk about it, at which point a conversation is struck up about the car. We look out and i can see the drivers door is ajar. There's someone in my car i ran downstairs and chased the bloke off. He jumps into an i30, and starts to drive away, i start taking pictures of the car. So he stops jumps out and threatens me with a knife saying "you wanna get fu**ing stabbed?" I reply "just get the fu** out of here". He drives off. Police were great, they showed up within minutes, really good cops too. Super helpful and feel bad for me.
  25. Update to this... someone tried to steal the car this afternoon. I'm at the police station giving a statement right now!
