  1. Damn, yours is still alive.. mine went bang, took out the turbo too LOL
  2. Man these low km RB25s are less reliable than a VW motor. Part of me is saying a C63 AMG is more reliable lol
  3. Because it means I will need to cut my dump/external plumb back and extend it to suit. Too much work needed, I rather a super reliable RB25 than a 300000km RB30. Spent about 15 minutes taking off the ancillaries and engine mount brackets blah blah blah. They now sit on a shelf.
  4. Venom 100 cell is good, but go the 5" body. The 4" body seems a little on the restrictive side
  5. Better cooler, boost, less timing, more fuel (and nitrous).
  6. I tune plenty of SRs, you definitely need some cams.. the OEM ones nose over way too early. Poncams are the best option and run OEM springs with not too much boost and you'll be ok. If I were you, I would sell that GT2871 fan boy turbo and get yourself a SS1.5 unit from Hypergear Turbos with the upgrades ball bearing core or a GTX2867R if you prefer the Garrett stuff. The GT2871 with Poncams will hit that 250kW mark but it's boring/laggy for what it is.. You won't get it all on till about close to 4000rpm and once you do get there you'll just fry tyres. I recently did a S15 with just ARP headstuds, Tomei Poncams/Springs and she happily makes 270kW+ on E85 however we are having some valve float issues with more than 1.6bar of boost. I suspect it will go into the 300kWs if we can get more boost into it. This is with a GTX2867R and it's all in by 3700rpm
  7. I reckon go full flex, I love it.. pour whatever you feel like into the motor.. I drive down to Wakefield on 98 (great economy) do a few warm up laps to get the 98 tank down then fill it up with E85 for real time attack. Then when it's home time pour/blend whatever fuel I can find for the trip home. Also, more boost.. tons more. Plazmaman stop making those piping kits. I've asked for someone before, although it's listed on their website. The stock SMIC piping is horrible for flow..Ditch as much of it as you can.
  8. Yeah saw that, but fuuark it I'm aiming for the stars now lolol..I'll end up blowing up that motor too. Just waiting on share prices to climb a little more then I'll sell and buy all the guts.
  9. I can arrange a Plazmaman Cooler for a bit less than most resellers. A cheat solution to poor FMICs is E85 or WMI.
  10. nah not det marks, it's ring lands and and rings being mashed up LOL
  11. well, the sides did lol.. Sigh, I don't want to spend money on this heap of shit
  12. Off with her head, as per the queen's orders. Cylinders 1 and 6 looks like they've had a chance to chew up and spit out metal bits. Slight scoring of the bore in cylinder 1. Sump plug has grew a metal Christmas tree, no chunks of metal this time round. Hectics..
  13. changes email again, still stupid message.. have given up.. don't care ignoring message
  14. soon my friend, the gearbox bolts are too short to mount the engine onto the stand lol.. need to sort that out first! After a built motor in Sydney, but thanks anyway man!
  15. you will make more power with the 272 however you'll notice your turbo will be much lazier coming on as you've shifted your motor's efficiency to the right.. depends how you drive it, and the car's intended usage.
  16. Available: Custom oil cooler bracket, uses OEM auto cooler bracket for 19 Row by 235mm matrix core (Mocal or similar) now black - $50 Sold: R33 GTS-t Stock Airbox & Snorkel + free filter of some sort - $50 Cadence XaH400.1 400w RMS Monoblock, stand & remote included $100 Cadence Slim 8" Enclosure Subwoofer $50 Kicker DXA125.2 2 Channel Amplifier & Kicker RCAs, Kicker Fuse/wiring $50
  17. If you're after fappy brap brap noise, go the cheapest 272 cams you can find with or without VCT support. if you want something that works, without the brap and not losing down low get the Tomei Poncams with VCT support.
  18. and I can give you kids better deals Also for budget conscious consumers, the new HDi GT2 cores are not that bad either.. "lowish" intake temps.. I recorded only 45 degrees on a S15 with 1.5bar of boost going into it on the dyno at full noise with the IAT mounted near where the FMIC pipe work goes into the battery tray.
  19. Yep.. like how a set of Tomei ARMS turbos were installed for "response". LOL x 100000
  20. I was always under the impression that "offset" issue was caused by flogged out OEM subframe bushes. I removed and replaced my subframe bushes with Hardrace ones and don't really have the said issue. Running 255 semis (which stick out even more than normal tyres) with 17x9+30 wheels they have equal amounts of space each side. Even when I had 18x9+20 BBS wheels with 265 tyres they were spaced equally.
  21. I like running cold side for pressure source because it gives you better boost control (if you have pressure drops across the intercooler) however you tend to get a bit of spiking, which isn't the end of the world.
